Why don't they use one of the park pitches? Could they not use Newcastle Towns ground or beg us to loan them the Brit for the night (not that we want the leppers in our ground - or Newcastle for that matter) and at least show a smidgen of effort to at least get the game on ?

The cost of disinfectant alone would be huge. The entire area within a 2 mile radius of the ground would need disinfecting. But it'd be great to watch them beg just for fun of telling them to "Piss off" !!

What is more worrying to me is that somehow they are still flirting with the periphery of the play-offs despite the Chairman's recent meltdown. As we know from there anything can happen, it is a real lottery. We wouldn't want them in the Championship would we? They would start to become insufferable again That would be far too close for comfort. As an aside I found it amusing that they are now trying to claim Lemmy as one of their own..based on where he was born and that he once headlined a concert at Vale Park and was seen outside the main entrance

What a joke club they really are Why on earth does a waterlogged pitch, following days of torrential rain make them a joke club?????? Would you class Carlisle to be the same joke club because their ground is waterlogged too. These are lower league clubs getting by on very little money and doing the best they can. It's about time some of you guys got off your high horses and just thank your lucky stars that we happen to be fortunate enough to be up there with the big boys. There but for the Grace, etc., etc. I am as big a Stoke supporter as they come but wish only good things for our less fortunate neighbours.I don't. I wish the same for them as they for us.(x10)

Aren't they building a decent young squad there now?

Aren't they building a decent young squad there now? Even if they are, they'll be completely useless at the sty and will be sold for peanuts as any chairman/manager with an ounce of Grey matter between their ears knows the Fail are in deep shit & desperate for cash and have no bargaining power.

Won't happen, they're toss. Outstanding analysis. Just my opinion, unless I missed Gods requesting a series of bullet points on Vale's promotion aspirations?

They didn't mind a piss soaked pitch when Regis stuck one in the mud.

Perhaps they could put his name on one of the 10,000 empty seats they have?

This is what happens when you fill your corners in. God it looks so depressing. Imagine paying money to sit in that half-empty soulless shit dump every other week. Fair play to the ones that do. We did up to 2008.

It doesn't feel particularly pleasing to be defending the Fail, but it might be worth remembering that it wasn't so long ago that we postponed a game an hour before kick-off because of the fucking wind.

Damn...that means you can't even tell people to f*ck off up the Vale at the moment, as on health and safety grounds there will be nowhere for them to f*ck off to.

Quite a few clubs at lower levels, which don't have a fraction of the income which PL clubs have, have had to postpone games following the extraordinary record levels of rainfall we've had. I don't go in for all this billy big time stuff of PL clubs supporters calling clubs like Vale who have had those problems a 'joke'. The strength of the english game is the pyramid in which clubs can rise from low levels to the top and back again. Like all pyramids a healthy top requires a strong base. If football's money was distributed just a little more evenly, some of the lower level clubs could afford to spend a bit more money on improving pitch drainage etc.

Is that the second hand stand they bought from Chester, as a tribute to their late chairman they should name it the Bell End, the home supporters could use it very apt the bell end full of knobs.

Well said Malcolm.
There's another thread on here where Man United fans are accused of arrogance for daring to suggest they buy Bojan. Yet we slag off a club that can't put a game on.
We are very fortunate to have under soil and state of the art drainage facilities. Port Vale fans come in many shapes and guises. Just because they are struggling I don't get this attitude of laughing at them. Fair play the ones I worked with in the late 80s were quick to shout their mouths of at us when we were struggling - but I thought we were above all of that.
If it wasn't for Coates we would probably be struggling to put a game on too in division 2 or thereabouts.....
If your going to take the piss out of others then don't get so precious when others take the piss out of us.

They could have used the money gifted to them by the council to install proper adequate drainage, they had the opportunity to move as we did to a new build ground they were arrogant enough to snub that offer, they only have themselves to blame.
