No,build on the defence I say,I reckon Shawcross will just get better and better, but I'm not so sure about Cort unfortunately, could he physically cope with Drogba,Yakubu,Adebayor etc?

i dont think he was that crucial, what kept sunderlad up was derby, brum, fulham being wank and allardyce going to newcastle
next season brom and watford/palace will be wanker than us so will fulham, reading, bolton, s'land and wigan

No.
Sign two top strikers who score goals and we'll be alright.
We are always going to concede goals in this league so there is no point in worrying too much about the defence, but of course, we need to strengthen there too!

What? And spend a cool £40m?
While i think TP will get a kitty - i don't think it will be owt like that?
On the goalie point - we could do worse than start with Keane's cast off - Fullop and go with him & Nash.

Can't see us following SundIRELAND's lead because they basically paid £9m for a keeper who had only being playing sunday league standard football up in scotland and TP would never spend that much money on a non-league player ;D For £4m-£5m keepers like Robinson and Carson would be available but realistically they wouldn't join Stoke even if we went after them, someone like Roy Carroll might be an option but Fulop is probably a likely signing wouldn't be too surprised to see Higgy rejoin though as I think Keane will be looking to sign better players than him if he is trying to move Sunderland up the league.

Fulop and Higgy for about £4-5m could be a good bit of business.

I have no reason to say this other than just a feeling - but i have always thought that Higgy will be back (other than on the Sunderland team bus of course).
Fullop was quite obviously TP's # 1 choice ahead of Nash too - so a 'buy one, get one free' in the SoL firesale might just be the ticket.

Fulop and Higgy for about £4-5m could be a good bit of business. I wouldn't complain if we signed those two although given the choice I'd have Riggott if at all possible as there is no doubt he is premiership quality and a much better player than Higgy.
