BBC Sport"Reports of Juande Ramos have been a surprise and former manager Guus Hiddink has been linked too. There hasn't been an obvious choice." 4 games in the next 17 days - interesting times

Pretty clear he'd lost the dressing room a long time ago. The Eva thing did for him. Gratifyingly, sometimes being a prick does lead to a comeuppance. Yeah a £40m pay off, bet he is gutted.

Another manager let down by his players Buck stops with the manager. He takes the credit in the good times, he should take the wrap in the bad. He threw them under the bus often enough.

Official Chelsea statement
Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by mutual consent.
All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013.
His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our 110-year history. But both Jose and the board agreed results have not been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways.
The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at Chelsea. His legacy at Stamford Bridge and in England has long been guaranteed and he will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford Bridge.
The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its potential.
There will be no further comment until a new appointment is made.
The Unemployed one.

I don't think it's a coincedence that Pep Guardiola is going to announce his future in the next few days.
If he's leaving Bayern as suggested then I think Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City will all be scrapping it out for his signature. Can see Mourinho ending up at Man Utd.

Yeah a £40m pay off, bet he is gutted. Money isn't everything. According to the BBC he is "only" being paid to the end of this season - ie the "rest of his 12 million salary. Poor Jose LMAO

They will regret this.... His team has been the leading points getter per game in the history of the Prem..2.19 pts average per game. His players have let him down badly.Still...i would get sacked every week for his payoff.

These are the same players that won the league in a canter and they are nowhere near that standard and underperformed dramatically. He can send them out with all sorts of instructions if they don't carry them out or perform theres not much he can do.

Man-management is a massive part of it and his acting the dick has clearly pissed those key players off. I think they lost a lot of respect for him over the Carneiro thing and a little bit more was lost every time he found a new scapegoat.

Players throw their toys out of the pram all the time, its never their fault and its always the manager who pays the price. Just once i'd like to see the players get it in the neck for essentially not doing what they are employed to do.
