A great read. Got it for my birthday, and am really enjoying it. Anyone ( Stoke fans in particular), buy this wonderful read. Great memories for me and probably a lot more of us oldies. Young fans should get it, and find out about the old days. A must for all Stokies IMHO!

It is mate,I went to his book promotion at Alsager library a couple of weeks ago,it was a great night and Terry is a superb talker. Told us how gutted Jimmy Greenhoff was to leave Stoke, and how he still remains a massive Stoke fan ,even though he works for Manure.

I got it a few weeks ago from the club shop. It was a signed copy. Enjoying reading it - football was a different world back then.

Read it in two days having received my signed ("To MacK, Loyal Stokie since 1967 - Terry Conroy") copy in post.
A brilliant read, especially Terry describing his first impressions of Stoke, the social club and the family atmosphere at the club throughout the 70's.
A must for all Stokie xmas stockings!

Went to Portugal in October this was my reading for journey, really good read for us older Stokies brought back many memories but the spooky part was on my return was a letter from my doctor inviting me to attend for a abdominal aortic aneurysm a cause which is very close to Terry`s heart (no pun intended) which i may well have ignored if i had not read the book, i got a all clear so thank`s Terry for a good read and good advice.

I haven't read it yet however I question the 'Family Atmosphere' in the 70's. My recollection was it was fucking scary both home and away GD

Is it available on general sale or just from the club, living in London it's a bit hard to find. any help would be appreciated as it would make a great xmas present for my dad (a long term Stoke supporter of over 70 odd years).

I grew up around the corner from TC in Dublin and he is to blame for me getting lost between Holyhead and Stoke too many times.

I remember going to his lodgings for a cup of tea and biscuits after a match once with my Dad. He used to stay opposite the ground if I remember correctly?. I guess that might not make it into his book but would probably be in mine! Crikey......how football has changed

There have been few better sights than seeing Terry Conroy steaming down the right wing like a gazelle or springbok and as he approached the goal line turning sharp left and heading towards goal.

Yes, mrcoke, one of my all time favourites. I used to be really disappointed when he didn't play. Reading the book, he obviously loves the people of Stoke and the team.

Yes, Terry certainly had a unique style, he always looked as though he had played the ball to far in front of him, then suddenly a long leg would shoot out and knock it past his opponent. He was superb on one on ones as well, always used to dribble round the Goalie and roll it into the empty net.
