Very best wishes for a speedy recovery. I have suffered kidney failure and am currently on dialysis. What the medics can do for you is little short of marvellous. One of the most modest of players but I remember the tremendous rapport you had with the fans.

I must have seen that save 100 times before and it still astonishes me how he kept that out. Good luck Gordon, if anyone can beat this, you can. True legend.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Gordon Banks: The sole reason a six year old from Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, became a Stokie in 1967 for ever more. Get well quickly Gordon, my hero, Stoke legend. To you and your family, may the thoughts of every Stokie in the world be with you every step along the way. I read but don't post on this forum. Hearing the news about Gordon, however, I felt I had to add this message. As with Kentpotter, Banks is the reason I trudge up the M5 and M6 from South Wales to support Stoke. Despite my obvious allegiance to Wales, Gordon Banks was my hero and I was delighted to meet him last year. He's the type of footballer who transcends nationalities and is admired and renowned the world over. I hope he receives the treatment he needs (sounds like a transplant) and makes a full recovery soon.
