A young adult going out on the piss up when he really shouldn't have because he's busy with his 'work'?
Maybe Jack should have come to University instead, where things like that honestly 100% never happen.

In the modern era of Premier League footballers needing to be ultra-fit, well-behaved professionals earning tens of thousands of pounds per week then if I were a club owner I'd reprimand any player going out and getting trashed in public.
You want to take the wage of a PL footballer then you take the responsibilities and sacrifices too. I'm sure a huge majority on here would accept £40k a week if the sacrifice was not to go out getting slaughtered. They all have huge mansions with 'LADS rooms' anyway...just invite your mates round and keep it private.

So if you earn a big wage you can't EVER go out and have a drink?
Behave.

Is this kiddie actually any good?
His whole career seems to be an exercise in smoke and mirrors so far.

Is this kiddie actually any good? His whole career seems to be an exercise in smoke and mirrors so far. He's shown flashes but to stand out a bit in a shocking team is no big deal. That decision to choose England over Ireland will certainly come back to haunt him.

So if you earn a big wage you can't EVER go out and have a drink? Behave. There is a time and a place mate,he doesn't just represent the club on the pitch. To go out on the lash, celebrating with bottles off bubbly, hours after the club you represent has been destroyed,is at best tactless. He has disrespected the club and the supporters of Villa, and should know better. The most worrying aspect is that he felt like celebrating.

Have you never drowned your sorrows after a bad day at the office? What should he do, lock himself away in the dark and flagellate himself until Monday morning? He had six days until his next game.

I don't think a person's job or the amount of money they earn should preclude them from being able to live their life. If, as is reported, he isn't pulling his weight in training etc then by all means throw the book at him, but this 'just another George Best' stuff, because a 20-year-old lad chooses to behave like a 20-year-old lad, is beyond the pale. I don't get this idea that footballers shouldn't go out after a bad performance. If I've had a shit day on a Friday it's literally the first thing I want to do.

I just think that there are certain things that you may need to sacrifice if you are in the privileged position to earn the insane sums that these guys do. If you want to be able to earn in the region of £20m for 10 years of playing football at the top level then you need to have the discipline to live your personal life to a certain set of standards that that kind of money rewards.

Most players move club many times in a career. Fans are "lifers". It could therefore be the case that fans take defeats far more badly than many players, so when kids like Grealish are seen out a few hours after a heavy defeat, when the fans are feeling suicidal, it doesn't sit well at all. Ther's a bit of proportion required on both sides, methinks. Although, in the case of Grealish, he does appear to be thicker than hobby horse shite.
