Seeing as I'm English, the England game. What a daft question.

I'd rather watch a game where the result mattered, so Ireland Bosnia for me
Probably won't watch either tbh

I'm only interested in Stoke, despite being English. I think our National coach, team & overall set up is over-hyped & forever underachieves as a result. Therefore I'd prefer to go down the pub & watch FA

Seeing as I'm English, the England game. What a daft question. Sorry mate, but I think you'll find many that 'English' people have grown disillusioned with the current England setup, to the point where if there's a better option, they'll take it, me included. A poxy friendly vs Spain or Bosnia vs Ireland which still matters? I'll take the second one ta.

I will not watch England whilst that useless Hodgson is manger, he selects players that don't play first team but leaves out players that do.
I will watch a competitive game that means something so Bosnia v Ireland then

Not really. What if the England game tonight was on at the same time as Austria (Arnie) v Switzerland (Shaq)? I can only repeat what I said the first time. I'm English so I watch England, just like I'm from Stoke so I watch Stoke. I don't get this thing of supporting players. When Shaqiri is playing for Switzerland he's not playing for Stoke, he's playing for fucking Switzerland. Sorry mate, but I think you'll find many that 'English' people have grown disillusioned with the current England setup, to the point where if there's a better option, they'll take it, me included. A poxy friendly vs Spain or Bosnia vs Ireland which still matters? I'll take the second one ta. Lets hope you don't grow disillusioned with Stoke when Man Utd are playing Chelsea in a crucial game, eh. I wonder how many of these 'disillusioned' people will soon be back on the bandwagon if we do well at the Euro's... No doubt telling us they've always been massive England fans all along.

I could go along with much of that IF England were playing a competitive game but it's a meaningless friendly. If it was a game that 'mattered' then I guess most would watch England (however mind numbingly painful that usually is) but there's a game that really matters involving 3 Stoke players as well as our ex keeper and I'll be watching that one and hoping that our players can make it to the Euro's.

Yeah, its not about making a big show about how wank England are and being big and clever about not caring, its about watching a game where the result really doesn't matter and will be played as such, with over a dozen substitutions in a funereal atmosphere.
Give me a winner takes all conest in a Balkan cauldron with a few familiar faces any day of the week.

The next episode of "the returned" would take precedence over either, but I'm finally getting round to the Bond film tonight instead.
If my hand was forced it would be ROI

Firstly I'd rather watch a game with some importance. Secondly, if that game involved players from Stoke I'd be watching that game. Club before country every time.

If I wasn’t an England fan I would watch Irelands match as that’s a tasty looking play off game rather than a friendly But I am an England fan so I will watch England
It’s a bit like saying would I rather watch a Stoke friendly or a play off game Stoke friendly every time
That’s how football supporting works doesn’t it?

Definitely the ROI game.
I don't think friendlies really have anything to offer the spectator lacking in any frisson as they inevitably are.
I am sure they are great for team bonding and the manager to have a look at a few things but for the casual spectator I am not so sure. Just a few players fulfilling a practice game and trying to avoid getting hurt.
I must admit this is the first time I realised we were even playing France as well as Spain!

Judging by the responses, it doesn't look like such a daft question. I'll be out for beers and curry anyway, but if I wasn't, and had the choice of games, I'd probably flick between the two. If Arnie, Shaq or Eric were playing, I'd probably have more of an interest in those games.
That's just the way it is.
