It'd be typically Stoke to make a balls of this one.

Need to treat this side with respect from the off and press them high up the pitch. We overlook them and we will not get a result. Unless the game is postponed or abandoned we are guaranteed get a result! Implied a "positive" one. WE ARE STOKE!

Should we beat Watford well on Saturday the Results God could do us proud and we'll move on up two, three or even more places especially if: Liverpool and Southampton draw Everton lose away at Arsenal Spurs lose at Bournemouth Palace lose fairly badly at home to Leicester We're due a good win and will be feeling so much better going into the Watford game. Watford have only lost once away tho. You'd get good odds for it on an acca, put it that way.

The only thing that matters is getting three points. Where we are in the league after that isn't important - certainly not at this stage of the season when it's so tight mid table.

Calm down folks.
There's not a bad side in this league, its funny because wrist slashers will be out in force if we lose.

Having supported Stoke for many many years, there are no easy games that Stoke can't manage to lose!
Let's not get ahead of ourselves whilst enjoying a good run.

With regards to the team the only position that will give Hughes a headache is the striker, I don't think Shawcross will be ready but maybe he'll play in the cup.
Butters Johnson Cameron Wolly Pueters Whelan Adam Shaq Bojan Arnie ? If Walters, Diouf & Joselu are all fully fit and available who starts? Who ever doesn't start the management will just say "with the cup game in mind"

Hope the players aren't as complacent as one or two on here. They will be a tough nut to crack, they seem good on the break from what I've seen of them. Exactly. If we just think we can waltz onto the pitch and win then we could come unstuck. Go in with a bit of fire in their bellies and we should win 2-0

Stoke City 43 Watford 0 Butland to score a hat-trick from his own area and Philipp Wollscheid with the other 40, finishing off by fingerblasting Quique Sanchez Flores's missus by the cornerflag whilst he beats Valon Behrami to death with his own boots. Glorious post! But surely they'll be a hat full for the little genius

It's fairly easy to think it's a straightforward win, but we haven't always had decent results against newly promoted teams, and we seem to drop the tempo when we go behind. Still a bit narked by that 2 goal lead we gave up against Leicester. Just go in with confidence and pick up where we've left off, playing with good resolve.
Looking forward to having the football back though. Cold weather, few whiskeys to warm the innards and 90 minutes of football at home. Happy days.

Am i right in thinking that MVG will start this match instead of Adam? My thinking is that Adam definitely won't play 60 minutes on Saturday, then 90 minutes on Tuesday because i don't think MVG can play against Chelsea can he because he is a Chelsea loan player. Or does that rule only count for league matches?

Arsenal did mullar them....eventually Watford we're 'in the game' until the first goal Watford looked very decent for an hour , the wheels fell off in the last 30 mins Did they? I thought they were, despite the obvious enthusiasm, very poor. Stoke 4-0

Having supported Stoke for many many years, there are no easy games that Stoke can't manage to lose! Let's not get ahead of ourselves whilst enjoying a good run. Absolutely, this is exactly the type of game we manage to lose, especially with Atkinson in charge and with us being on a 5 game unbeaten run.

Caution chaps. The three teams we have edged past by the odd goal only are all below us. For starters I would love to see a 3 goal gap win on Saturday to boost morale all round and prove to we supporters that Stoke are indeed aiming high. However, the truth could easily be that we are currently in a state of euphoric shock and as often when riding high, we could also be due for a fall............... I bloody hope not.

So important to keep things in perspective. 3 wins on the bounce in this league is fantastic, and Watford at home is a game we really should win.
But, they are dangerous on the break and are more effective away than at home. Ighalo has already scored 5 this season and will be a handful.
At this moment, Bournemouth and Villa are as close as you get to gimmees in this league, and Swansea are on a bit of a slump (no win in 5?).
Very positive about how things are going, but I'm not sure we are as good as we can be yet. We've made hay in the sun with 3 winnable fixtures, and in all honesty we have two more opportunities coming up. If we could take them we will be looking very good in terms of the league table.

Who plays up top if all fit & available? Tough call for Hughes I would stick with Joselu myself, I cannot see Diouf being in the right frame of mind and as Walters was unfit I would save him for Chelsea and next weekend, also the old don't change a winning side resonates
