Switzerland decided to call shaqiri up knowing he isn't fit too play, obviously pushed him in training (or he's pushed himself) and he's injured again!

linkOn Wednesday traveled from Behrami (calf), and on Thursday had Shaqiri cancel the final training and MRI. The best Swiss scorers ongoing campaign (8 matches / 4 goals / 5 assists) tweaks a muscle above the right knee. In the evening, there were nevertheless some good news. Team doctor Hans-Ulrich Backes: "All clear! No muscle injury. " Only enter no risk As with summer (broken nose), sitting in the stands and is replaced by Bürki, Petkovic will not take any risks even when Shaqiri - in manageable strength of the enemy not daring. "If there is a minimal risk, he's not playing," says Petkovic. The first choice as a replacement for Shaqiri could be Breel Embolo. It would be the starting debut for the 18-year-olds.

Sparky won't be happy. Time for Afellay to really show himself.

I really concerned about this.
It has been clear that Shaq has been injured from the moment he joined. His inability to sprint was evident in the Norwich game and ever since. This is symptomatic of a tight hamstring (among other things).
He needs to be at SCFC getting fit, not gallivanting around the world at the behest of his international manager.
The world is ridiculous.

He should be doing whatever recovery is needed at the club

Sensible thing to do would be to get him back to the club asap and get his treatment / rehab here.
Even if he misses our next 2 games, he needs the required time to recover
Wilson is another player that should have stayed here too.
Other clubs seem to have managed to retain / withdraw players with any fitness doubts - I realise players want to be representing their country as often as possible but surely not at the cost of further damage
Let's hope that our other international players return to us without any problems

Like people have said, Stoke city pay his wages! he should be at stoke training ground easing his way back into how we play football!!! It really winds me up, because he is obviously ok to go be a sub and apparently be injured? Its a joke.
