He was a flawed genius but a genius ... he once ordered his players to have a beer (or wine) to relax them before going out onto the pitch to play a European Cup final ... it worked and they won but not many managers would do that !

English football misses him badly IMO. Would love to see him square up to the likes of Mourinho and Wenger.

One of my favourite Cloughie stories is the time that he got home in the early hours of the morning after a midweek away game in winter. On getting into bed his wife said to him "God your feet are cold", Cloughie replied "Yes they are, but you can call me Brian."
