Does anybody care about the league cup game this week? After the tough start in the BPL I'm not too fussed about the game against Fulham. I always want Stoke to do well but at the moment the league is priority for me.

A good result in the cup could kick start the season. A strong team hopefully.

Who gives a stuff about a realistic chance of silverware...? I get your point I'm just more concerned about our league form. If we had more points in the bag I would be looking forward to a good cup run.

I think it will be difficult for the players to motivate themselves for this and its a shit trip too. Mind you plenty of us have done it and gone to work next day I suppose

Only from a point that if we win it will do us the world of good.

Yes. Let's lose some more confidence by going out to a lower league team. Also, fuck Wembley and actually winning something. Look at what it did to Wigan and Birmingham - we don't want to end up like them.

Yep, really looking forward to the Fulham game. We should be going all out to win this one if only for the confidence boost, very strong lineup please Mr Hughes.

Walters Ireland Odom
Joselu

Any away pubs recommendations? 8 Bells is usually full of Stoke albeit a bit of a shit hole. Loads of good boozers to stumble into though around there. See you all there. Come get on TBPTV.

It's the cup! Who doesn't look forward to the cup and want us to win. The only major trophy on our history list. I live in hope that we add to that.

I love going to League Cup games but not for the fact it's a chance of winning a cup tbh. As most will have gathered, I'm weird (shock horror). I love going to see a reserve side in these games, bloody love it. Same with the FA Cup too. It's something a bit different.

Over the last few years I've enjoyed the Cup away games more than Prem away matches. The chance to see summat different and so forth. I'm generally an advocate of mixing it up a bit in the Cups. But that doesn't mean I don't care. Not going this one but conner wait to see who he picks. It's a potential playground to test the depth of the squad.

Absolutely yes.
I would concede there is more to be lost by a bad performance than to be gained by a good one. Nevertheless it is important to give "fringe" players a competitive game, and it is a chance to make a positive impression.

Potential banana skin and an accident waiting to happen which could make us look a bit stupid and compound our poor start to the season. Or a chance to get a first win under our belt leading to a resurgence in confidence and a run up the league table.
In short, it's what football is all about. Bring it on!
