Chris what game we referring to with those ratings?
Butland - 7 Johnson - 6 Cameron - 7 Wilson - 7 Pieters - 6 Whelan - 7 (Needs help along side him badly) van Ginkel - 5 Arnie - 6 (Would have been 5, but did get the assist) Shaqiri - 5 Bojan - 7.5 Walters - 7 (7 for the goal, he's done his job)

Butland - 8 Some more decent saves from Jack. Not at fault for either goal. Johnson - 6 Fairly anonymous Cameron - 6 Fault for the second goal Wilson - 8 Much needed experienced head at the back Pieters - 7 Mr Consistent Whelan - 9 MOTM Van Ginkel - 7 step in the right direction broke the play up well. Arnautovic - 7 Outstanding work for the first goal. Tricks, pace, strength, vision. Shaqiri - 7 Good in flashes. Bojan - 8 El Petit Geni is back! Walters - 7 relatively quiet apart from the goal (taken well)

Butland 7: did all he could. Johnson 5: largely anonymous Pieters 7: solid game Cameron 6: some good interceptions Wilson 7: brought some improved solidity to the defence Whelan 8: excellent Van Ginkel 6: invisible for long periods Arnie 6: a moment of brilliance to create the first goal but a stupid challenge to give away the penalty Shaquiri 7: tried hard but hasn't really found his place in the team yet Bojan 7: good goal and nice moments but faded early and picked up a stupid booking Walters 6: did what Jon Walters does

Butland - 7 Johnson - 7 Cameron - 7 Wilson - 7 Pieters - 8 Whelan - 8 Van Ginkel - 6.5 Arnautovic - 7.5 Shaqiri - 6.5 Bojan - 7.5 Walters - 7.5 For me, this is the closest out of all the ratings..... Probably drop Johnson down to a 6.5 and Arnie to a 7 (but that based on his excellent first half rather than over the whole of the game), but I'm just nit-picking!!! Whelan and Peiters spot on, it was difficult to choose MotM between these two!!!

Butland 8 - Outstanding in everything he did when called upon Johnson 8 - Rock solid defensively, never gave their wide man a kick and tried to get forward towards the end when our substitutions had killed the game Pieters 8 - Excellent showing from the ever reliable Erik. Didn't give the dangerous, Premier League Form player, a kick all game Wilson - 8 - Solid, mistake free return to the starting 11 Cameron - 1 - 89 minutes of better than expected defending ruined by 1 schoolboy, inexplicable error. You can't have a good game as a defender if your mistake costs your team a goal.
Whelan - 7 - steady eddy as ever. Nothing to complain about MVG - 7 - Good game from our loanee. Unlucky not to score and showed plenty of energy and desire to get about the pitch. Promising signs
Arnie - Can we give marks for each half? 10 for the first half where he was sublime and had De Leat on toast. 0 for the second half which started badly and got worse the longer it went on. Maybe he was injured just before half time, but the way he "downed tools" was infuriating for me. He should be carrying this team with his ability
Bojan - Can we do the same but a bit less critical - 9 for the first half. Great play, great feet, great vision, great goal. 5 for the second half. tired badly got the basics all wrong and allowed himself to be frustrated by the ref. I'll excuse him because he was dead on his feet after 55 minutes and should have been taken off earlier than he was.
Shaqiri - 7. Better performance from Shaqiri but so far, I've not been as impressed with him as I was when Bojan and Arnie first arrived. Both struggled to find their feet but both showed glimpses of the talent they had. Save for his deadball prowess, being honest, I've been disappointed with Shaqiri to date. Saturday was a much better effort and hopefully a sign of things to come
Walters - 7 I would have given him an 8 but he loses a point for the sitter that he missed as that would have wrapped the game up. He held the ball up well in the main, brought others into the game, ran the channels and all in all, proved again, that he is far better through the middle than he is out wide. No complaints from me really aside from that missed chance.
The subs, Ireland aside, were hopeless.
It was a frustrating day but in the cold light of day, when the emotion of disappointment subsides, we actually played very well for long periods. A crazy 10 minute spell did for us and for once, I would point some blame in the direction of the manager. His substitutions were unfathomable.
Put 2 halves together like the first and we'll beat lots of teams and start jet propelling ourselves up that table.

Walters also had a much bigger influence on the game than Shaqiri and Ireland was as wank as the other two subs. Otherwise I agree.

For a bloke who didn't get a kick all game, Mahrez sure did well to influence the game as much as he did. He made both goals.

There isn't much Erik can do about him being the nominated penalty taker and Huth launched the ball for the strange named centre forward to flick on to Vardy. Did Mahrez even touch the ball in the play that led to the second goal?

I also thought he won the header that flicked it on to Vardy, but I stand corrected. Erik played well, but Mahrez was a growing threat as the game wore on.

Defended well, didn't give his immediate opponent a kick and tried to get forward to support our play when the substitutions had pretty much killed us as an attacking force. Walters, if you read it, would have had a better mark but for me deducting a point because he missed an absolute sitter. I'll give him a 7.5 if it makes you feel better! For me, there was nothing to choose between Van Ginkel and Whelan. Both played well. (EDIT - I didn't realise I'd given Van Ginkel 7.5. 7's for both him and Whelan were my intended marks)

Butland 8- one great save, no errors at all
Johnson 6- one killer cross which should have been converted but very little else. Eric 6- solid game Wilson 7- aside for the cock up for the second ithought he did well Cameron 5- more at fault for the second than Wilson
Whelan- 7 solid but a little too slow to move the ball in the second half MVG - 6 better this week but still gets lost when the game opens up
Arnie -8 first half/ 3 second half (should have been subbed at half time if he was injured) Bojan -9 first half/ 5 second half (should have been subbed after 65mins when he was clearly knackered) Shaq -7 decent game, was pleased to see him stay wide more, very promising.
Walters-7 took his goal very well but could have got on the end of two really excellent crosses. Should not have been moved out wide in the closing stages.
Crouch- 4 pointless, silly substitution Wingie- 4 no impact and the wrong sub Ireland- not long enough to grade but should have been on for Bojan at least 20 mins earlier.

Well he played a lovely ball into Drinkwater that lead directly to the foul and penalty. I also thought he won the header that flicked it on to Vardy, but I stand corrected. Erik played well, but Mahrez was a growing threat as the game wore on. He definitely didn't win the header and my memory says that the ball to drinkwater reached him via a thrown in! From the Guardian report... Marc Albrighton replaced Gokhan Inler at half-time, but it was Arnautovic who, inadvertently but clumsily, pulled the Foxes back into the game by bringing down Drinkwater inside the penalty area five minutes after the break. Mahrez, whose pass Drinkwater had been running on to, converted the penalty. The ease with which Riyad Mahrez turned Erik Pieters in the first few minutes raised eyebrows, and it was the Algerian who drew the first save of the game from Jack Butland... From the BBC... Goal! Goal! Stoke City 2, Leicester City 2. Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Riyad Mahrez with a through ball.
