Jonathan Fortune's finest hour surely came as part of Charlton's notorious 'expensive seafood' back three of Fish, Costa, Fortune.

Ernie Tapei rings a bell.....from Australia wasn't he? Still....Cliff Carr. Still remember a great save he made at Elland Rd, which was even more better by the fact he wasn't in goal & the ref didn't see it. The Leeds locals didn't see the funny side.

What about John Ruggiero? My dad thought he was going to be a star. I remember him! A local lad, too.

Harry Dowd on loan from Man City for 3 games 69-70 season while Gordon Banks was injured.
I remember the Boothen End singing "That's why he's Number 2" after a particularly fine save

Who could forget that useless bugger? Certainly not Newcastle fans. Dennis Tueart, John Gidman, Mark Higgins, Alec Lindsay, Alan Suddick, Gordon Marshall, Mark Mcnally, Derek Statham, were all good for previous clubs...but best forgotten by us. Graham Harbey will always stay in my memory, not because he was any good, but because he has the same birthday as me.

Someone's mentioned Des Backos but what about his strike partner Jeff Cook. Remember travelling down to Cardiff to watch them make there debut in a dismal 2-0 defeat, not sure either of them had a kick of the ball.

Terry Wiliams. I went to School with him and he was quite the bully, gave me great pleasure to watch him getting twatted by adult men on the big football pitch

We may be the only two that remember him. I still can see him scoring with a header on his debut at the Boothen end. Can't remember who it was against.

Two for the oldies like me,Maurice Setters shortest centre half we have ever had? And Harry Gregg. Remember them well. Setters was indeed short but built like a brick shithouse. Wonder what ever happened to him.
