Whats the latest with his new injury? I'm convinced we'd have finished even higher last season without his cruel knee injury. completely agree mate obviously everyone talks about the "what ifs" with the bojan injury re: where we'd have finished and am completely bemused why PO is never mentioned in the same way I guess because it happened so early and he wasn't playing that great in those first few games (for good reason, the World Cup). And people have short memories.

Rubbish, what a short memory.............Kenwyne was shite for us, Jones maybe scoring a few in the championship but he was dreadful for us for the last 2 years
Was a great swap for us, we were in the mire until he fired us up the table
Exactly what part of the above was "rubbish"? 2 lines of facts followed by a question. I like PO and was glad we got him, but to call it the greatest swap deal in history is, in my opinion, a little overboard. Frankly, I don't think we will ever see him play for Stoke in a league game again, unless we have a nightmare run of injuries. fair point, not the greatest swap in our history, that has to be Mike Sheron, but Wingie is up there.
Come on you can admit it, Kenwyne was absolute gash, if MH swapped him for Titus Bramble it would have been a good deal!!!

Yeah he was the result of one of the greatest swap deals you're ever likely to see. Hmm, Jones played 47 times for Cardiff and scored 12 goals. He is currently 30 years old. Odemwingie played 23 times for Stoke and scored 5 goals. He is currently 34 years old. Greatest swap deal? For which team? Are you honestly suggesting that Odemwingie was a bad swap deal? Jesus wept.

totally different player, Odem is quick, has fast feet and knows where the goal is
Joselu, we don't know much about Crouch is a target man Walters runs the wing and works like a trojan
I (and from all indications, MH) would start one of those 3 in place of an unavailable Diouf every single time before using PO in that role. Right now I am sure he would, but things change and depending who you play against Wingie can still be a part I am sure

Kenwyne was great in the first season but after that, I agree he was a lump of coal. PO was great in the first 6 months, but after that has not torn up any trees.

I am sorry and I am not trying to be rude but "not torn up any tree's" !!!!

Indeed! He signed. Played well for 4 months. Went the World Cup. Played 3 games at most then got injured. Very harsh!

Kenwynne was awesome under Hughes in the CCup but for whatever reason he didn't turn up when it looked like he'd earned a Prem start. Chose to fuck about and rightly shown the door. Brilliant business at the time. Similarly Jerome, I reckon his betting indescretions did for him and us. Can't see Odemwingie scuppering any chance he has, he's a driven individual. Hope it turns out well for him.

Odem showed even during the friendlies that he has an eye for goals, but with another set back I'm starting to doubt his fitness. He isn't getting any younger, but I still hope he wil make a contribution for us this season!

I like Odemwingie as a player, he has an eye for goal.
But being his age and suffering such a major injury, it'll take time for him to regain full fitness. There are obvious question marks over how of an effect his injury has had on his game, I hope it's none. The only the way to determine that is to give him some game time.

Odemwingie for Jones is the third best swap I can remember after Mike Sheron for Keith Scott & an Amiga game for a couple of jazz mags found behind some garages.

He has previous for starting well and then fading. It was a good deal for both clubs
