Just seen the man from Tashkent is in the 25.
Do you think the he will be competing for a start or is he on the pile marked '**League Cup ONLY' with Sidwell and Wollscheid?

I'd like to know what PO has actually done to deserve the ridicule, disrespect and being dismissed as readily as he is by some.
Apart from getting a nasty injury playing for us.

Right now I think Odemwingie simply isn't fit enough and that's going to be his biggest challenge. He's not a young lad anymore. It's much easier to get fit when you're 18, than when you're 34. I imagine Bojan, who suffered his injury much later than Odemwingie, is feeling fitter and less creaky. It's going to take a lot of self determination for PO to get himself near the team.
It's a real shame, because before his injury, he was superb.
He, along with a number of others, should start against Fulham though.

Yeah he was the result of one of the greatest swap deals you're ever likely to see.
Odemwingie's arrival kickstarted our surge up the table.

was only taking about Odemwingie on deadline day when Berahino was making a twat of himself on twitter. We took him on (when it was clear that 'Arry had tapped him up previously) and he has been nothing but committed, professional, respectful, disciplined and immense for us. I'm glad we are supporting him through his injury and I really hope he'll feature for us somewhere because he might be 31 but he looks about 14! I think Pete, much like Walters, will always play his heart out for us, that's all I ask of professional players at SCFC. It's all we can ask of anybody who comes to Stoke and, by and large, that's what we have. Maybe these darling prem clubs need to consider that.

Going to be interesting to see who's higher in Hughes' thinking - Wingie or Walters?
If he was 2 or 3 years younger, there wouldn't be much doubt that he could get back and play a big part.
But suppose there's always that element of doubt with a player of his type when they get into 34+ territory.

3 right wingers into 1 doesn't really work does it?
It's going to be interesting to see how it works out between him and Walters in the dropping stakes.

Could we use Odemwingie as backup on the left as well though? He featured on the left in one of the friendlies, he did a cracking job tracking back helping out Bobby Moseley LB. Was it Brentford? He could also be back up for Diouf s'pose. Shame about his recent set back.

Yeah he was the result of one of the greatest swap deals you're ever likely to see. Hmm, Jones played 47 times for Cardiff and scored 12 goals. He is currently 30 years old. Odemwingie played 23 times for Stoke and scored 5 goals. He is currently 34 years old. Greatest swap deal? For which team?

Yeah he was the result of one of the greatest swap deals you're ever likely to see. Odemwingie's arrival kickstarted our surge up the table. too right, he was fantastic for us the back end of 13/14 season. He was exactly what we had been missing, a genuine goal scorer unlike Kenwyne
He may be knocking on a bit and been injury prone, but you have to love the guy.
Never know he could play his way back in, doubtful but not impossible

Was a great swap for us, we were in the mire until he fired us up the table

Back up for DiouF? After Joselu, Crouch, Walters, and who else? totally different player, Odem is quick, has fast feet and knows where the goal is
Joselu, we don't know much about Crouch is a target man Walters runs the wing and works like a trojan

Exactly what part of the above was "rubbish"? 2 lines of facts followed by a question. I like PO and was glad we got him, but to call it the greatest swap deal in history is, in my opinion, a little overboard. Frankly, I don't think we will ever see him play for Stoke in a league game again, unless we have a nightmare run of injuries.

I (and from all indications, MH) would start one of those 3 in place of an unavailable Diouf every single time before using PO in that role.
