A round of golf at Gleneagles is £180.00. That is shocking. Was £265 to watch 2 days of Ryder Cup golf at Gleneagles! Yes but you get to watch about 20 hours of golf over the two days which equates to about £13.00 an hour. Much better value

This could be our lowest away following since promotion, I reckon between 250 - 350 will go.

Was £265 to watch 2 days of Ryder Cup golf at Gleneagles! More novelty, unlikely you would do it again, the majority that go do it once, therefore more expensive especially the rider cup, in europe once every 4 years, doesn't even add up to the ticket cost for half a season of away games. I get your premise but not so comparable. Yes agreed mate. As a one-off (it's not back in the UK for at least 8 years) it was well worth it.

Could be worse. It could be 22 quid on a monday night on TV at Crewe, in the third division.

You should never pay more than 20 quid to watch ANY football match. The price to watch games with the amount of money that is in football is a disgrace.

Another thread moaning about ticket prices. We should pin a thread at the top. Nothing is going to change EVER and theres nothing anyone can do about it,period. Not being hard just being a realist.Just thank the club we have free travel or else all hell would break loose. I simply don't agree and some of us are going to keep "moaning". The reaction that there's nothing anyone can do about it is music to the ears of the clubs. Partly I believe as a result of the FSF campaign, there is much more focus on this issue. Our club has taken a lead on trying to get PL action on prices, which is to their credit and we need to support them, not just accept things as inevitable. The free coach travel you mention is in fact a direct result of that because all clubs then agreed to spend a sum on away supporters. I would have preferred it to go on reducing ticket prices but I'm not going to spend too much time criticising Stoke City because their stance on prices has been one of the best in the PL. It's very doubtful whether some clubs spent their agreed amount at all. We also estimate that the Twenty's Plenty campaign saved fans £400k as a result of reciprocal deals which otherwise would not have happened. I hope some stokies will help in the weekend of action on Oct 3/4th . Villa fans have already been in touch with the FSF asking if stoke fans will help in joint action. It will be embarrassing if can't recruit some to do so. If you can help, please email tickets@fsf.org.uk www.fsf.org.uk/blog/view/Get-involved-Twentys-Plenty-Weekend-of-Action-Saturday-3rd-and-Sunday-4th-October

Good job the suffragettes didn't take that attitude, or black Americans during the 50's and 60's. I exaggerate the point of course, but something could be done if there was a proper organised movement across the country amongst ordinary football fans..... There is - it's called the FSF and we have a weekend of action on prices on Oct 3rd/4th . Villa fans have already been in touch about joint action with stokies. It's a good excuse for another embarrassing away following ? Look I'll be at Villa just like I'm at 75% of away games and the reason is I can afford it due to kids grown up etc etc Why can't you just accept that there's many more like myself ( and obviously yourself ) who would love to travel but financially they just can't justify the ridiculous price of a football match and that's just the admission money

Watching football is an expensive hobby. If season tickets wern't so cheap I wouldn't be able to go to matches. Going to Swansea with ticket prices, travel , food, beer etc would cost the best part of 80 to 100 pounds. With the cost of living there is no way I could afford that sort of outlay. The price to watch football in The Premier League when you consider that modern day footie is awash with money is an absolute disgrace.

I used to go to >50% of our away games in the lower leagues but since being in the Premier League I get to about 1 or 2 a season at most. Up until the Etihad last season I'd never seen us score a goal away from home. I went to Birmingham a few years back with the missus. Cost me 75 quid for tickets, 10 in petrol, 5 for parking and another 10 for some snappin and a drink..... for one of the worst games of football I'd seen in a long time. Luckily for us the football has changed but the price hasn't. Christ knows how people get on with a couple of kids.

It's not a normal Saturday though it's a Monday night and it's live on the telly, so why not use some of the vast TV money to help fill the ground by pricing it accordingly? Why don`t Sky when negotiating contracts stipulate to clubs the maximum they can charge to watch a televised game? Like that idea. But that would be too sensible. Sky don't do sense.

You would still be spending £65-£85.

I did every away match in our first season with my lad who was unemployed at the time and I reckon it cost us somewhere in region of 3k for the 19 matches - plus another 1200 on 3 STs which is pushing 7k top line earnings - and the sheer time commitment - untenable year in and out - free travel is great and certainly reduces this by a grand or so but still a massive financial outlay for most. Pick and choose now.......
There may well be more money in the game than ever before and a bonanza will be had by those that line up in the prem next season but we all know where that money ultimately comes from.......
