What's happened to Holland?
Iceland have got some good players. I know the football hipsters on Twatter love them.

Did Afellay make the team? Knowing everything as I do, no he didn't. He's on the bench. They've got 1 sub left, so there's still time.

I went to the match with some Icelandic colleagues. Iceland thoroughly deserved their victory regardless of Robben's injury and the stupid elbow (?) from their centre half, which obviously helped. Made me wonder what kind of team Stoke might have had 14 years ago if these Icelandic players were around then. Great atmosphere in Dam Place later with 1.5% of the Icelandic population in Amsterdam, celebrating their first ever qualification for a major championship, assuming they beat Kazakhstan on Sunday.
Eidur G came on and did pretty well after he had settled into the game. They had the long throw of Gunnarsson, reminiscent of Rory, and the artistry of Gylfi Sigurdsson, who is quite a player and converted the clear penalty that won the game. Also extremely well-organised, a real team pulling together unlike the Dutch.
Afellay did not get on but looked good in the warm up and kept some good company on the bench including Van Persie. I think he will come good.
