Only 2 goals conceeded in 7 games which is great organisation, with a lot of 'journeymen' players. I don't see how he can reasonably be described as a 'dreadful' manager if he gets them to their first finals since well before Sir Stan retired. Fantastic result by Iceland as well - now only 1 point away from qualification for their first finals. They've only scored 9 goals in 7 games though. Great results and all that, but we have to remember they have an 85M forward up front, Aaron Ramsey in midfield and an underrated Ashley Williams at the back. It's made his job oh so easier in terms of results. I think their supporters could expect a little bit more going forward. Iceland deserve special praise because they've only conceded 3 goals in 7 games but have scored 15, and they don't have half the quality that Wales have and are in a group with Czech Republic and Holland. Slovakia have slipped under the radar - also have conceded only 3 in 6 games but scored 13 - in a group with Spain and Ukraine with 3 30+ year olds up front! Poland are the major over-achievers though. Leading Germany, lost none in 6 - scoring 20 (leading scorers) and conceding only 3.

Very good by Wales. Not looking forward to glib comparisons with England though.

Beat Israel, job done. Fair play be good to see Wales back in a major tournament...... How old are you that you've seen them in a major tournament?

I think their supporters are delireously happy at the moment - certainly the FSF guys at the fans embassy are. With results like this, they'll take only 9 goals all day long - so would I ! I agree with you about the other "over achievers" though. Iceland only has about 300k population

I'm gutted. Hate the idea of Wales being at the Euros. Over the years I've seeing nothing but hate from Welsh and Scotish fans and people towards England. I wish them no success whatsoever. Childish probably I know. Having said that though. It will make for a great tournament in France if Wales, Scotland and England were there !

Danny Collins was Welsh and did represent them whilst he was with us I think. To be fair, he still IS Welsh

Well done to Wales, looks like they've qualified for only their second ever tournament, their first one since 1958, and not by default either. They've had some bastard qualifying groups over the years, too. Good on them, I say.
