He was going so well until the last line when he says we never got Zonz on board Much as I don't like the guy, I think his summary is correct. N'Zonzi was a constant pain ever summer being disgruntled and resisted MH's best efforts to persuade him to sign a new contract. It's true the guy wasn't on board in the sense he was committed to Stoke; he clearly saw us as a stepping stone from Blackburn to a CL club.
He was talented no doubt, and on his day he could be a game changer.....but those days were somewhat rare IMO He was also VERY petulant (not just on the pitch - as evidenced by his seasonal transfer requests), AND a red card just waiting to happen in many games The fact that he's already been red-carded for Sevilla is pertinent, isn't it?

I wonder what Nzonzi thinks now we've signed Shaqiri. Enough to convince him to stay?

I made a bit of a funny last week about nobody in Face knowing (or caring) about who Stoke City were (well nobody in Cognac or Bordeaux at least). They don't really like the Premier League over there, possibly a reason why N'Zonzi and his dad thought he'd have better chance of a France call up if he moved abroad. Plus he was having a few issues off the field from what I've heard so would explain why his heart may have not been in it.
