I didn't expect a poor season, still don't... but we've made a worse start than I could ever have imagined, not just in terms of results but the way we've played except in fits and starts. Right now I'm expecting us to fight our way back to maybe 45 points, unless we can turn this round quickly and start with a good headline win... Arsenal springs to mind..

Probably a good time to play them actually. Might be a Bojan moment.

I'm not worried one bit (at the minute, anyway) Confident once we get our first win we'll kick on and be a real handful for most teams this season (the same can be said for a lot of teams this season though)

Very hard to say.
If we are still in the bottom 3 at the end of Sept, then yes I think things could get a bit tricky.
However, I don't expect this will happen and we will have a comfortable season with the cups providing excitement.
My worry is that teams will note our lightweight players and will look forward to bullying them particularly at set pieces. It means Whelan and Walters have to play every game until Ryan returns to add some strength to our team. It was no coincidence to me that the thought of Walters leaving led LMH to consider bringing in another hard man to help the starting 11.
I don't think we'll finish higher than last season.

I think it's going to be a memorable season, we've got the squad and team spirit to really push on. Saturday's performance proved that we're not going to cave in even when down to 9 men! If we can get through the international break without injurys we then have to go to the Emirates and I really think we'll get our first win and that will be the catalyst to get us climbing the table. Hopefully we'll finish even better than last year and Europe again if the dream comes true!

I think looking at the inbalance in the squad we will do well to hit 50pts. But we REALLY have to beat the lower teams at home thats key lose many of those games and we are looking at making stellar away performance again and I don't see that.

And by poor I mean 45 points or less. Seems to be a lot of negativity. Is it only me who rates our players? I genuinely am excited at watching Shaqiri,Bojan,Arnoutivic on a regular basis. Adam,Ireland,Afellay,Diouf Good players More goals in the side than last season. I'm even impressed by Glen Johnson despite his iffy moments. Given the fact that everyone in the prem has improved there squads greatly this season including ourselves, and the importance of staying in the prem this season due to the increased revenue next season then I'd be very happy with 45 points if that's enough to stay up. So simple put no

We will win some, we will lose some, we won't go down, we (well me) will enjoy the football.
Does anything else really matter?

When their backs have been against the wall, have they ever hidden away? Nope, they get their heads down and fight for everything.
I'm disappointed we havent managed to get 1 or 2 more in but these players know what they are doing. Lets remember the majority of this squad have helped to achieved consecutive 9th place finishes.
They've proved doubters wrong before and I'm willing to bet they will do it again.

15th due to lack of goals,we will have a lot of the ball but have not got a player yet who can play a killer pass.Maybe Bojan but it will be October before we see him as a regular on the field which we be a quarter of the season gone.

christ no. I'm expecting a brilliant season and nothing Ive seen so far says otherwise. We lost our first two home games last season and played awful at Hull. Going to be much backtracking from some come May!

I think we'll pick up but there's a lot of teams stronger than last season. I expect us to be 12th-14th There no guarantee though. The past 2 seasons has seen teams spending loads of money and still not achieving what we have. Granted we might not be as good as last season, but with Bojan back soon, that a massive, massive boost.

Hold on, do I detect a hint of doubt 'we might not be as good as last season' Bojan sums the whole thing up succinctly IMHO - he may or may not perform at his level of last season (it was a very serious injury) but why push the envelope and take such risks in such a pivotal season ?

I expect a poor season every year. No matter what anyone else think, there are only about 6 teams that can say they won't get relegated, any season. We definitely don't belong to that group and it will happen eventually. I am relieved at the end of every campaign that we are still there.

Bottom 5 for me so no higher than 15th but my main concern is we never get started and implode in a QPR way so we are so far adrift .
Id take 40 points now in a flash as I fear Leicester and Bournemouth will both get something at the Brit Leaving us with 4 from 7 maximum
Repeat that in the next 7 and your gone let's hope that's not the case but it's a real risk looking at the fixtures and our performances to date .

Is that your prediction then? 8 points from 14 games? What was it last season? Won't have 20 points by new years day? How many did we have again? 24 wasn't it?

I said it's a risk not a prediction it wouldn't surprise me as they are both better than WBA and Norwich and we haven't beaten either of those
Plus momentum is key they have it we don't we need a clear win somewhere to set us off

I think it's only a matter of time before one of our new signings produces a jaw dropping piece of skill and hopefully that will be the catalyst to boost our morale and performance level. However I simply can not accept that we can change so much with so little time and expect it all to gel in a moment. Do I think the change is good , yes . Can't wait for it to gel. Do I think we will struggle for a while longer, yes, new players and players set to return almost like a complete new squad and with a lot more expectation on them. Do I think we will get 9th no and I would be happy with mid table and 45 points as I feel that is a price well worth paying for the changes we are seeing. I'd put us over 50. Team looked good second Tottenham and played well before the sending offs at WBA. The results will come, hopefully sooner than later.

Wba were absolute dogshit, just like Leicester and Burnley were last season but freak results happen. 7 points coming up from the next 3 games and you'll then need to find a new measure to justify your pessimism.
