I'm sick of saying it ....we are very UNDISCIPLINED, any body who thinks charlie adam accidentely stood on his leg needs help These incidents aside what evidence do you provide that we are UNDISCIPLINED . How did we fair last season for red cards I the PL?

He booked Gardner for the foul so retrospective action could be taken for the raised hand Serious question Dave..... How do you know what he booked him for? In any case, if he booked him for the foul, it's still not possible to take retrospective action for the 'tap' IF the referee says he saw it. Wasn't it obvious that he was booked for a professional foul? Regardless, my question was a rhetorical one because quite clearly no retrospective action will be taken. The possibility of it wasn't even mooted by media over the weekend. No surprise seeing as it was only little old stoke that were shafted by the officials.

Well perhaps if he hadn't done a flying two footed scissor kick and the tried to hold to Adam's leg in a successful attempt top wind him up he would of got stepped on. If the FA continue to treat petty reactions to a foul MUCH more seriously than the foul itself then they are in fact encouraging players to cheat in an attempt to get players sent off. It is obvious that Affeley and Adam were deliberately targeted by West Brom in a cynical (yeas and successful) attempt to get them sent off. Oliver had previously fallen out with Hughes and delighted in the chance to get his own back. And when all of that is said and done..............the referee still acted within the laws of the game and CORRECTLY sent off two Stoke players. He got other stuff wrong and Gardner should have gone but the two Stoke players were correctly sent off (even if he COULD have used a bit of common sense with Affelay and booked them both). We need to stop blaming the referee for the stupidity of two of our players. The referee acted within the laws of the game but not correctly. If he had booked the West Brom player for pushing Affeley into the hoardings (deliberate and no attempt to play the ball) and said stop trying to wind people up or I'll send you off, the match would have stayed 11 vs 11 and we would have won this would have been the correct result. He could have acted correctly and within the laws of the game by booking Affeley for ungentlemanly conduct for the flick as it was not violent He could acted correct and within the laws of the game by sending Dawson off for a two footed flying tackle. The fact Oliver choose to punish reactions not the cause of the reactions, granted this is predictable as he is a twat but it is not right as it encourages foul play and cheating.

Good, it's an absolute blessing in disguise.
Hughes has been trying to shoehorn the pair of them in for no good reason and it's cost us.

I think sin bins would help. Ten minutes off for those incidents would be fair. Nine men for an hour and three match bans isn't.
Save red cards for the nasty stuff, actual punches, actual stamps, dangerous fouls.

Stokeyouth, The same drugs as the Stoke city official site, they have him done as a midfielder. As he's better as a winger you simply move Arnie or Shaqiri into the centre.

If the charge was violent conduct then I thought 3 game ban was automatic? I was going to say that. No chance of an appeal, either. Almost right ! Either red card could have been appealed because they were straight reds ( 2 yellows can't be appealed). There is a new provision starting this season that where a straight red is unsuccessfully appealed, a club can, in the alternative, submit that the standard punishment of 3 games is excessive, and a regulatory commission can reduce it. I haven't seen any mention of the club appealing these two ? If they haven't, then the above route of reduced number of games isn't available.

Lets not forget that Michael Oliver is the only ref ever to spot holding in the box at any ground and give a penalty for it, so he must have got all his decisions right on Saturday. He's a fucking legend in his own memory is Michael Oliver. Well fuck him, fuck Gardener and fuck Pulis! Gouranga.

Have to agree it makes team selection straightfoward with less opportunity for experimentation (mucking about). However, I thought Charlie was playing well till he was sent off. Made several excellent long passes (aka hoofball)

Not overly concerned to be honest. Can't help thinking Afellay slows down the build up by continually cutting inside and playing safe easy passes. Adam will be a miss from the bench. Totally in agreement Plus he hampers van ginkel's play by constantly cutting infield and taking up his space This is a great opportunity for MVG to show his worth

I think he was hoping that in the tangle, Dawson would kick out - it didn't happen and Charlie's 'weight shift' onto Dawson's leg was not discreet enough.

I would love Bojan to start against Arsenal. He has 2 weeks in which he can build his fitness.
