Watching the likes of Moses, dyer, Antonio and Lennon turning up at various clubs when really and truly, to play as you'd think we want to, that we desperately need that 3rd genuine wide option?
I don't share the doom and gloom others seem quick to express re our summer transfer activity but I do think we need another flying wide man in our ranks to give us those much needed options in both the starting 11 and from the bench.
Watching these very decent options go elsewhere is a tad frustrating I have to admit.

I can't help but think if Everton had wanted Lennon so bad after his loan spell why wouldn't they have signed him before today??

With have 2 out and out wingers in shaq and arni.
The cover for them are odem who has fitness/injury issues and Walters who has just handed a transfer request in...
It was imperative we brought in anotherwinger as you'll need 3 top wingers to account for injuries, form ect .
A lot of our attacking play came from pace and power on the counter attack, which the like of moses and Antonio would've been perfect for. I can't for the life of me think why we wouldn't be interested ( other than purse strings being closed).
We obviously have identified the need for an additional winger and have 15 mill to spend with our pursuit of yarmo, I just don't get why it was him or nothing.
Why the hell have west ham signed two left wingers as well as already having Janis .

I can't help but think if Everton had wanted Lennon so bad after his loan spell why wouldn't they have signed him before today?? Because Levy was asking for a ridiculous transfer fee. It's only when you reach the last few hours and he knows he's stuck possibly paying wages for nothing you get to barter with him.

Nope - we've got more quick wide players than you can shake a stick at - Affelay, Shaqiri, Moha, Wingie as genuines, Diouf and Walters you can play there, and Johnson and Cameron who can both push up.
My frustration - if I have one - is we haven't signed genuine cover in the centre of defence or properly replaced N'Zonzi.
But that ship has sailed - the manager has said he doesn't need any more than what he's got - so we have to believe he knows better than we do.

As I alluded to yesterday perhaps its a case of having very specific targets which we'll pursue again further down the line rather than spending on players we don't really want. Still frustrating to see decent wide options move elsewhere.

I can't help but think if Everton had wanted Lennon so bad after his loan spell why wouldn't they have signed him before today?? they tried to but Levy wanted 9mill....because he's a money obsessed prick with no realistic outlook on what players are worth (hence them now having to accept 4 mill or be stuck with a player not named in their squad that they still have to pay wages for)

I agree with stokemanusa. People who dont want to play for us can do one. I don't mean SJW. People like Chelseas benchwarmer and that french bloke. What's the use if their heart isn't in it?

The days of Pulis brinkmanship have long gone.
We've known for 2 years now that Sparky gets his business done in early.
Didn't expect anyone and it looks like that's going to happen.

26 players who would need to be registered at the moment (including Shawcross, but not including Wilkinson due to premier league rules & injury, and the fact Shenton is under 21) so surely there would have to be someone leaving before we could reasonably think of getting another player in.

So again, like usual you are assuming people's reaction based on nothing... I think it's a forum wide agreement that we need an additional wide man, so I doubt people would have any qualms about signing Antonio.. Having a net spend of 3 million does indicate the purse strings are closed in my book . No no no, thank you Mick for writing in (thumbs-up)

Having a net spend of 3 million does indicate the purse strings are closed in my book . No no no, thank you Mick for writing in (thumbs-up) what, so because we need a wideman then any old winger will do? funny how you never once mentioned his name beforehand (especially given how vocal you've been about needing a wide man) and now he's suddenly exactly the player we need? Re; Moses then i'm pretty sure i've hit the nail on the head whether you like it or not...HE said himself, publicly he was either staying at Chelsea or would go to antoher London Club and nowhere else but no, according to you it's because we're penny pinching. and the only reason for the low net spend is that we actually made some sales on player's with only 1 year left on their contracts...would you have preferred it if they'd gone on frees just so then that would push the Net spend figure up?? Hughes' net spend since he's been here has been fuck all, yet we've had 2 years of finisihng higher up than we ever have before in the Prem and last year socred more and conceded less than ever before. fucking shit isn't he..if only he'd spent another 30 mill that would obviously guarantee Champs league football eh??? sorry mate but i'm not taking shit from someone who's so clueless they automatically presume every player at Stoke must somehow be squeezed into our 25 man squad (your post re: Haugaard, Given and Butland earlier showed you to be someone who knows..well, fuck all really) try getting behind the club you allegedly support, the players we have and the manager who has given us 2 record breaking seasons so far (which apparently don't count because of the size of the bloody cheque book) so deserves a bit of faith and sure as hell a bit of respect you sad prick. this board is getting worse and worse with the amount of "We haven't spent as much as X so therefore we're shit and are going down" bullshit going around.fuck knows what you were like as a "Supporter" 10 years ago if this is what you're like now!

I'm getting frustrated - all this talk of net spend is really pissing me off. net spend = success mate you know that from now on we're going to let every player go on a free so our net spend automatically becomes higher...we don't want to be sustainable in the long term after all do we? just let St. Peter bankroll us with his never ending mountain of cash and to hell with the consequences. David Brent, Benjaminbiscuit and themistocles know FAR FAR more about business and football than Hughes and the Coates family donchaknow!

I was thinking about a 50/50 on either a CB or DCM, but no more than that. Yarmolenko (and him specifically, not "a winger") would have been a jizzworthy bonus, but it was always unlikely.
Definitely not frustrated, I didn't expect anything from today.

just for a few minutes - enough to provide some relief
