If you read the thread properly I was just asking where all the promised funding has gone. Why are transfer fees irrelevant?. Did I mention those two players or the amount required ?. The fact is that football revolves around transfers and fees paid. You really are contradicting yourself.

Hughes has had to work on a shoestring budget since he came here. Our net spend this season is £3m which is scandalous really when you look at what other teams on our level are spending. So where is all the money going?

Would you be happy if we spent 12m on Brown Ideye and 10m on Ricky Von WolfsVan Ginkel instead of Diouf and Odemwingie on frees? So many people obsessed with transfer fees. It's irrelevant, what's relevant is bringing in players that suit and improve us. Doesn't matter what they cost. Becarefull, they don't like people talking sense

So where is all the money going? All the money is going in wages and running the club, despite what some must obviously think the TV money is not just there to spend in transfer fees, infact up untill last year all the transfer money came out of Peter's own pocket and then wrote off by bet365. Only last year did the club make any money and that was very small. The big TV deal does not come into affect till next year that's when clubs will spend stupid amounts

As I said In feb we were never going To Make a material imvestmemt .
What's sadder is How we let our player of the season go so easily as the fulcrum of the team and thought we could replace him on the cheap.
Our strategic approach has been naive in the extreme compared to Swansea , palalce , etc and is now been exposed week after week
Difficult call now stick with the enormous risk if carries or twist and try and sort it out

I appreciate there may not be a lot spend on transfer fees per se, but I suspect there has been a hefty expenditure in signing on fees and significant increase in the wage bill. I know these costs may be discounted over the contract periods, but there is still a significant negative cash flow. The fact that the transfer outlay is low is because of sales, which we may not be happy with, but it would have been futile forcing N'Zonzi to stay. He would have had a bad attitude and end up not getting picked.
I only heard 1 legitimate complaint at the match yesterday, which was that MH and his coaches are not bringing through young talent to give them a chance, but keeps buying players.

So as elsewhere Less Than 5m net and talk of Next level hair delivered bottom three and this squad as it stands will do very very well to get out of it . 48 hours to fix it if we don't , we deserve whatever comes gravity just served notice today and if we don't heed it its entirely of our own making You don't half talk some shit. Honestly.

If we went and spent £50m on Mike Williamson would you shut the fuck up? Transfer spend has got nothing to do with it in and of itself. The fact is we've got a terrific young squad now, and thanks to our shrewdness we can get an excellent central defender, Nzonzi replacement and right winger if we want to. The money is there.

If we're being greedy and we have the squad space then by my reckoning we need/want: Left back. Competition and cover for Pieters. If he is injured then we are fcuked. Muniesa will have to move and it makes the centre of defence very weak.Centre half. Commanding centre back. Self explanatory. Left wing. Quality competition for Arnautovic. Right wing. Backup for Shaqiri if Walters leaves. Wilson is fine as LB cover.

Taken out of context like that it aint great, but when you think we've played 2 teams that should be beating us in Liverpool and Tottenham and then had two sent off in another it isn't as bad as you're trying to make out, we should have done better against Norwich but sometimes you have off games and a point away is always a good thing, especially given how we played. You need to give the team more than 4 games.

I keep reading that unless net spend is a kajillionsquillion pounds then we are up shit creek.

We have already signed 8-9 players I think!, that's it for signings I'm afraid, don't know why people expect a massive 48hrs I simply don't see anything happening.
We can question whether it's been good or not and where the money has gone, but there won't be an nzonzi replacement and I think that's it for CB positions as well.
My big worry is lack of pace, without it doesn't matter how pretty your passing is teams can just line up 2 banks of 4 and it will be very hard to breakdown.
Will be an interesting couple of months, no panic yet, but teams in and around the bottom 3 after 10-12 games tend to get stuck down that end of the table.
Fingers crossed that is not us!!!

I hope Mark has not bought in too many players at once...the balance of the team is lost now...the potential is there and i feel if we just finish mid table this year and the player gel then yes we have moved away from the pulis era...we need points and i am confident we will get them...but a CB and A Mid are a must...Afelley, Whelan, Van Ginkel too much alike...Adams and Ireland are impact players..we need a Jonjo Shelvey typo player
