What I would like to know is where is the so called fund that we heard was available to Hughes to take us to the next level. By my reckoning with the money we have brought in we have spent fuck all. Another pr stunt perhaps to sell season tickets. We are desperate for a quality striker and centre back. The next couple of days should be interesting!!.

Improving and moving to the next level is not all about what you spend in the transfer market, we have increased the wage budget to bring in a higher caliber of players, also the window is still open I'm sure if Hughes wanted to bring in a player he would do so.

We don't need a striker. We've got five.

It won't mate, sparkys already said we've done our business. Can't see anyone else coming but I can see Walters going. We've spent next to nothing.

If JW goes for say £2m it would mean we've spent a piddling £1m this window! Poor benji must be gutted as he forecast a whopping £5m! That's practically no spend over FIVE Hughes' windows plus no spend in TP's last Jan window!

Who are the five QUALITY strikers chief ??. So which big wage earning striker are you getting rid of to fund one? We play one striker up front. Diouf is playing well. Joselu cost £6m and has only just arrived. Crouch, Walters and PO are still here. So even if one of the latter three goes our new striker is either third choice or demoting one of the other two, neither of which is going to happen. We have bigger priorities.

If Walters does indeed leave I hope somebody else is lined up to come in to replace him. Also I would hope for an upgrade on Sidwell & a quality CB would be really appreciated please Uncle Pete.

Why do we need a striker? To score some goals? Give our current strikers the service and they'll do that.

If we're being greedy and we have the squad space then by my reckoning we need/want:
Left back. Competition and cover for Pieters. If he is injured then we are fcuked. Muniesa will have to move and it makes the centre of defence very weak.
Centre half. Commanding centre back. Self explanatory.
Left wing. Quality competition for Arnautovic.
Right wing. Backup for Shaqiri if Walters leaves.

Why do we need a striker? To score some goals? We have one of them in Diouf, with good back up as well.

In answer to your question chief, unload Crouch and Walters. Still unsure over Joselu. Sometimes looks like a Spanish Bamber. Back to my original point Hughes has again spent fuck all.

So as elsewhere Less Than 5m net and talk of Next level hair delivered bottom three and this squad as it stands will do very very well to get out of it .
48 hours to fix it if we don't , we deserve whatever comes gravity just served notice today and if we don't heed it its entirely of our own making

Surely your wrists have been slit to the point you've now only got stumps?! We've had a poorer start than we had hoped, I'm sure we'll have a purple patch sometime soon enough. Chelsea have had a bad start, with possibly the best squad of talent they've ever had, do you think they are worried of relegation? Lots of perspective needed.

It's not just the poor start more the fact that from May we have been destroying the spine of our team and its all so predictable as we have recruited players on the cheap who are simply not good enough . Joselu , wolly , affeley are level below current first 11 not level above .

That doesn't really answer my question Dave. Even with those two of the books, are you really happy to drop Diouf and consign our new £6m striker to 3rd choice based on three sub appearances?

Fair comment. I just have reservations that Diouf and Joselu have enough goals in them to take us to that next level after all the hard work done last season. Do you have confidence that our midfield can share that load. We all hope so.

Do you have confidence that our midfield can share that load. We all hope so. I think Diouf's got 10-15 goals in him certainly mate and Joselu has to be given a proper chance before he can be written off. Adam, Bojan, Shaq all have goals in them too, as does Walters if he stays.

Why should we get rid of walters ??!!
Here are the ones we need to get rid of -
Wolly Sitwell Tex (Good riddance to all 3 of them) Odemwingie (no disrespect to him)
4 positions freed 4 wages saved
BUT then we need to buy and fast

Would you be happy if we spent 12m on Brown Ideye and 10m on Ricky Von Wolfswinkel instead of Diouf and Odemwingie on frees?
So many people obsessed with transfer fees. It's irrelevant, what's relevant is bringing in players that suit and improve us. Doesn't matter what they cost.
