To be absolutely honest......I hope I don't have to get used to pronouncing his name An Aussie in the Stoke first team is suddenly going to mean a load of red & white shirts on the streets of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. What about Adelaide Hobart and Darwin ?

It seems like we're in agreement then - it kinda feels like we're making it up as we're going along, rather than following any predetermined strategy. It's felt very Pulis like to me. If we do set up with a Whelan and Jedinak CM then it does feel like a step back in time. A solid base and let the front 4 create the chances and score the goals (it's a bloody decent front 4 though!) Jedinak could just be a Sidwell upgrade I guess, if Whelan goes down we really do have a problem. Especially as Cameron seems to be cementing a CB spot instead of the CM which was expected for him this season. We're still crying out for the man to receive the ball in tight positions and be the link to Arnie, Bojan and Shaqiri though. Unless Van Ginkel or Affelay come good in this respect we're basically ripping up the play book that has served Hughes so well since he arrived. I'm not convinced Jedinak's signing changes much. I really do think he'll be a Sidwell upgrade who provides a better challenge for Whelan, playing alongside him occasionally.

That IS true, tjb......but is he what we NEED on the paddock?? Well if one of our old work horses has been put out to pasture, we are going to need another one. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable in the trenches if I had Affellay on one side and Van Ginkel on the other. I reckon this lad will give us the blood and thunder that certain games call for.

I have to admit that Affellay scares the crap out of me...he's such a petulant little twat; a red card waiting to happen every game Van Ginkel will come good I think...but maybe a 'Jedinak-type' player might suit for the time being

Crystal palace reject good enough for Stoke... Jesus Christ An injured reject too, but he is good in the air unlike anybody in the current starting 11 and has good energy and presence. As he has to play VG cant see where he fits in and so therefore may just be a squad player addition for those who are on their way out

Crystal palace reject good enough for Stoke... Jesus Christ The Crystal Palace that took 48 points from 29 games under Pardew (pro rata that would have been 63 points over a season), with Jedinak a key part of that.

Am I missing something? Certain people now seem to think Nzonzi had the attacking prowess of a Frank Lampard, yet when he was here he was a crab who broke up every attack???? (Which was bollocks) Jedinak's goal contribution in the PL is a damn sight better than Nzonzi's. Jedinak has scored 6 Premier League goals. 4 penalties, one free kick, and a header from a corner. N'Zonzi has scored 6 Premier League goals (all under Hughes). All from open play. I don't mind Jedinak at all, but he's no N'Zonzi, IMO. He's Whelan.

Exactly what we need. Some extra steel in the team. Fingers crossed we manage a defender and a shock top drawer signing to go with jedinak.

If we sign Jedinak, the club shop will be knackered having signed Joselu, Johnson & then Jedinak in the same transfer window.
There'll be a national shortage of the letter 'J'
...... join the 'Q', oh Shaqiri has had them all!

I think this will be a good signing for Stoke. Whelen & Jedinak as two holding DM players providing an excellent screen when we play away at Arsenal, Man City & Chelsea. Adds to the balance of our side. Good Move.

Underwhelming would be an over exaggeration. We let Huth go and then sign a fucking useless ageing scrapper for the engine room. I'll be lost for words if this proves correct. Yes we needed physical presence in CM but this bloke would be the worst ball player in the side by a country mile.

There was ridicule when our former manager was trying to sign him about three years ago, what's changed? To be fair, the perception of him went through the roof in his time under Pulis. He does seem the perfect cage midfielder when he's asked to keep it simple in a Pulis system.

Wow I assumed we spent all summer scouring Europe to try and find a replacement for arguably our most influential player and the outcome is..........feckin Jedinak!!!! Is he any better than Sidwell? And what does it say about the Van Ginkel signing many on her who think he is going to be fantastic for us. if Jedinak is the 'next level' player then that level is in the wrong direction. Shaq signing apart this has proved to be a pretty desperate window full of wtf signings! I am baffled at what our strategy was this summer if indeed we had one other than a financial one. I assume he is available at next to nothing....underwhelmed but he will help get back our 'thuggish Stoke' label

I thought Jedinak had what could be a long term hamstring injury, or was this as not 1st reported when it happened in the league cup?

In afraid you have to understand the circumstances in which the management. Team are operating .
Needed a headline signing to match the rhetoric and the some areas of the team need addressing the only way to achieve that is sell at the first opportunity and buy one and fill in with the rest .to Get to net £5m
The really Imtersting thing. Will be as the results continue to deteriorate where will the flack go and who will ultimately pay the price .
Never mind third from bottom of the Leage and coincidentally third from bottom on net spend look at net spend over the last 6 Windows there is no mystery as to why Gravity is having its way with us we gambles on being shrewder than the rest the results to date suggest otherwise
