Recent links with various teams have his prospective price at £3m. 2 yrs left on his deal, just turned 31.
Mind you, suppose you pay that for anyone with a pulse now.

Were you asleep when we broke our transfer record for a quality player earlier in the month? With money accrued from selling players. Mark Hughes has been allowed to spend approx. £3million in 5 transfer windows. When Walters goes we'll break even. Where is the money going? What about the signing on fees? 5yr deals on 60k a week? Agent fees? Investment in the training facilities that now make us one of the best academies in the country? investment I'm the scouting network? The fee for Shaq was 12m then add a couple of million signing on fee, half a million agent fee and 5 years wages brings us to a total of over 30 million, how can you say we are not spending the money????

Hardly a Nzonzi replacement is he? Good player but you'd expect better.

Van Ginkel may well come good, I think he clearly has ability so I'd hope he will but you can't rely on hope and nothing else. At the end of the day he has been a bit of a pussy in a couple games if I'm honest and I think we need some fucking steel, and some physicality in the middle and Jedinak's middle name should be fucking steel. Because he's so steely, and solid. Like Steel. Jedinak would be a steel steal imo

Wonder if he'd ever play ALONGSIDE Whelan? He's always struck me as very Whelan-esque and not really someone who'd complement him? Hmmm ... I think if the day after we sold N'Zonzi, we'd announced that we were signing Jedinak as his replacement, then this board would have gone into TOTAL meltdown. It's all about context and I'd suggest the only reason so many people are reacting favourably to his signing now, is because with the clock ticking towards the close of the transfer window, they see his signing as something of a relief in that we will have at least SOME steel available for the midfield now. It would have been a very different reaction a few weeks ago. I still see Van Ginkel starting the majority of games and Jedinak being used from the bench, or partnering Glenn away against tougher opposition. I'm glad that he's signing because we DO need some steel adding to the midfield but I have to question how much of this has really been thought through/planned properly by the management? Are they reacting on the hoof to what they've seen from the first few games, rather than acting on a clearly defined strategy from the start?

Watford and West Scrum are after him, although I'm not overwhelmed by his possible signing he would add a bit of steel in the centre of midfield. Gouranga.

Even taking into account the Pulis factor, West Brom surely have enough steady-but-unspectacular central midfielders?

Always liked the lad if I'm honest, Proven in the prem and will provide the steel we need. Not a signing to get the pulses racing but he is a decent buy.

That's right Paul....... Whelan & Jedinak away to arsenal for starters Jedinak is injured. Think somebody said until later next month. They would have been perfect for Arsenal. Apparently he is out until 20th September, so if he signs his first game would either be Fulham in the cup or Bournemouth at home probably.

Good at defending set pieces which will help us and he's not a bad set piece taker either. Two things I think we're missing in the team, Adam set pieces haven't been up too much. Saying that Shaq hasn't had much of a chance yet

I'm just making the point that we are spending a lot of money that ain't seen by a lot of fans because it's not plastered over sky sports news. I'm sure some stoke fans would sooner see us sign a player for £20m rather than sign the same player on a free just because it looks like we are spending big and it obviously makes him a better player because we have spent millions

I think he'd be a good signing for now and what I really like is his leadership qualities too. I'm a bit worried that we are a talented team but that we may be short on leaders at the moment.

Well we've had a summer of speculation on Shaqiri, Yarmalenko etc but we now end up with Jedinak.........and I'd be well chuffed with him. As unglamorous as he might be, we can all see he is the kind of player we are currently lacking and will do a good job for us.
Still need to replace Walters though should he leave.

No better than Whelan, and not really the type of mid we need, bit of a strange one unless he's just cheap back up. Take it you haven't seen Luke's post above? Who are you expecting? Mario Gotze? I saw it and if we needed to replace Whelan then he'd do, but do you think he's the right man to replace N'Zonzi? I know like for like won't happen but I don't think he is the right way to go personally. Edit, is Gotze the only other player we could sign?

If Jedinaks the answer, what the fucks the question.
He's another Whelan not someone who can play alongside, how shite must our back 4 be if they need 2 of the most defensive midfielders in the league to sit intront of em.
At least one centre mid needs to play who has a bit of vision, I'd sooner stick with van ginkle for a few more outings

Another sidwell signing in my opinion, the same solid pro stuff was said about him.
Dropped a massive bollock in not replacing nzonzi adequately earlier in the window which he forces our hand now

Am I missing something? Certain people now seem to think Nzonzi had the attacking prowess of a Frank Lampard, yet when he was here he was a crab who broke up every attack???? (Which was bollocks) Jedinak's goal contribution in the PL is a damn sight better than Nzonzi's.

(Which was bollocks) Jedinak's goal contribution in the PL is a damn sight better than Nzonzi's. Think it was more his passing ability and the fact that he rarely wasted the ball. He was also a very good transition from turning the ball from defence to attack. No doubt Jedinak would add some steel and defensive protection, but his passing ability isn't in the same ball park. That's why a champions league club was in for him where as Jedinak is wanted as a squad player by us and Watford whilst Palace want to offload him. He would be a decent short term squad addition. Nothing more nothing less.
