He has always been talented. He's shown it since he came to us. It's good how after last week he finally got some credit.
BUT one misplaced pass early in the game at Norridge and he'll get loads of shit again.

As someone said other day. Seems to be at his best when he has clever players around him.

Unlucky to be left out but if last weeks anything to go by he might be most dangerous coming off the bench.

Not a fan of him, but he deserved to feature after last weeks performance he still might to be fair - wouldn't be surprised to see ireland and joselu replace affelay and shaqiri with 30 mins to go

Needs to be in for van Ginkel. Young man looks lost in the midfield.

Needs to be in for van Ginkel. Young man looks lost in the midfield. Affellay looks even more lost! We miss Nzonzi massively!

How is he not starting??? Because as much as I love Ireland, he's a player who thrives in stretched games when pockets of space start opening up that he can wander into. I think we'll see him at about an hour.

For me he should be in there today instead of Affelay.

Has to come in before the hour if we're level / losing.

60-65 is fine
Keep midfield settled... Then as players tire bring him in to find gaps

Can not understand that our manager didn't realize how well Stephen and Arni linked up on the left side last week in the second half. Ireland should have started

Great ball for diouf.... Pity about the finish

Subs were too early IMO we looked a weaker side without Arnie even thought he hadn't had a great game up to then. Gouranga.

Yeah.
Start Ireland and leave Arnie on.
Afellay looks all at sea.

Too many weak players.
Afellay and MVG need a month in the Bojan gym regime before they play again.

Manager killed him....
Took off the wrong winger for two reasons...
1) Ireland and arnie link up excellently 2) shaq lacking match fitness and was dead on his feet

He's gone, we need to improve / adapt in the role that he played here Affelay and van Ginkel will make more of in impact give them a chance!

MH has the chance to give other players the chance to play on Tuesday
The game at Luton will be a challenge, but also an opportunity to develop a bit more understanding between players.
Then the rest of the week to select our strongest team / squad for the West Brom game and consider what if any more business to complete in the transfer window

We are just so lightweight in the middle of the park. Would love us to buy abit of a bruiser for the midfield. We really need that bit of fight & bite to balance the attacking flair.

Would love to have heard Hughes' explanation as to why Ireland was not starting. Hope he's not too aggrieved.

Ireland should have started ahead of MVG or Afellay but when we did bring him on we didn't give him the ball! For some reason he became our target man and also because nobody was making runs in front of him he couldn't be as effective as we know he can be.
