I'm currently contemplating on getting one for the football because I'm sure I won't make it to some games due to work commitments. Are they any good and any suggestions what model to get.

If you already have a laptop or PC just put Kodi on it. Or the simplest way is to go to Tv addons and install tvmc which is pretty well set up for you. there are a number of custom builds that specialise in sport. give it a try, worth the effort www.tvaddons.ag/

I have a xstreamTec htpc media player one, it's the dogs for me. Had it about a month, wish I had got one earlier. All the football and films for nowt once you have bought it. Amazon are selling them for £64.99 dead easy to use just make it a wired Ethernet connection, unless you have really good wireless. Just watching Malaga and Sevilla as I type, seems to have every Prem game each week live with really good definition, the box comes pre loaded as well if you are not too savvy with technology( like me). I can only say get one, they are mint.

Mx3 (mxIII) android box can be found all over ebay or amazon for around 40, comes with kodi (xbmc) already on it and easily copes with anything you throw at it

My bit of advice is make sure that any box you have has proper support - firmware updates and an active forum. I bought a generic Chinese XBMC box last year an had to send it back - there was no support for the box at all.
In the end I got a Minix X7 which is pretty decent.

You cant go wrong with the Minix boxes tbh. Make sure you get one that comes with an air mouse remote.
