Bizarre arrangement. He's a player for hire, with loan fees Chelsea make a tidy profit on him each season. It's the future. It is indeed watford's owners have been doing this at Udinese for years, you get access to lots of promising players at very little cost or risk.

He never wanted to come back here, that is blatantly obvious.

He never wanted to come back here, that is blatantly obvious. This is what I've been trying to say. People hammering our 'shambolic' transfer team. Victor didn't really want to be here. For all his good performances, I, for one, never felt that he really took to the club. He was professional and he was committed, but that doesn't mean he genuinely wanted to be here. I'm grateful for what he did, he was an excellent loan, but for crying out loud, those who feel it was somehow a silver bullet? It wasn't.

Presumably he only had a year (or two) left to run on his deal at Chelsea, so they've offered him a deal to protect themselves when he inevitably returns/leaves next summer. Disappointed we didn't push for him, but entirely understandable if we'd have to make him a top earner (and shell out a couple of million, too).

I don't blame us at all for the Moses saga, maybe a bullet dodged? I think West Ham will prove a bad loan for him. Just a feeling like ....

The argument is probably immaterial as Victor got a London club and Stoke would never have touched the deal that West Ham have agreed to, but... I always thought that Moses was misrepresented a bit when it was reported that he didn't want to come to Stoke. He was getting game time with Chelsea, he was their best player pre season and Mourinho said he had a future - he was never going to say he wanted to move away in those circumstances. Perhaps he did only want London, but it would be interesting to see what would have happened if we had a Chelsea loan available to us today. I'm sure we would have gone all out for him (and lost out to money bags West Ham )

It has, that's true, and for understandable reasons, given his background. I don't think it was so cut and dried about him and Stoke though, and Hughes was clearly still going for him during the Begovic negotiations, long after the reports about him and Stoke. If Chelsea wanted him out for another season and no London loan came up (and it might not have done, Chelsea and Spurs famously don't deal with each other) I'm sure Stoke would have been high on his list. Immaterial though. Good luck to him, though I hope he has a shit year for West Ham.

West Ham doing some great business there wages must be astronomical though. They get a new ground virtually rent free next season and have huge profits from the sale of The Boleyn to subsidise expenditure. The tax payer is contributing milllions to football in the East End.

A gun for hire just like the rest of them
and like a player not a million miles away
will force a move when it suits him
good luck to em !
but this incredible greed and avarice will inevitably cause the end of our game
A desparate urge to sign somebody - anybody, to avoid relegation at the end of this season
not so much a case of your cock ruling your head when it comes to women - more, money ruling peoples heads
its becoming pretty frightening actually
the word is GREED folks
