Absolutely fantastic performance from the lad today.
We looked a different side when we changed formation and he came on.
I think we should ditch 4-1-4-1 and go back to 4-2-3-1. Who would play the N'Zonzi role I have no idea but Ireland surely has to start.

Revelation today.
He's got that kind of floaty-knit-it-all-together-cleverness in his locker, and he can occasionally just ooze class - just so frustrating when we don't see it.

Outstanding when he came on and Joselu also seemed a hand full. Butland and Arnie were superb today as well, plenty of positives from the game and plenty of things to improve on.

Incredible. Often underrated and in Adam's shadow but he was fantastic today. Has to start, likely over one of Afellay or Van Ginkel.

We need the 2 in midfield, I agree. Whelan was too exposed in the first half(going by the Radio commentary), and I still think we need a capable partner for him. I hope MOTD highlights Ireland's performance; I doubt it, though!

What was the formation when Joselu came on?
Did Diouf go out wide?

He was literally the centre point in every single one of our attacks, everyone was more effective with him on
Special mention for Joselu, making the right runs and definitely a good striker in there waiting to come out

yes away from home he seems to find space and is the most intelligent passer in the final 3rd. When a player is in hot form you HAVE to play him.
Affelay cannot play that role based on his performance today. He needs to watch how Ireland does it

Same back 5 + Whelan
Adam
Shaqiri Ireland Arnie
Diouf
Players who play well deserve to start barring Shaq

His vision, touch and passing ability are amazing when he's on form. Had such a lot of potential when a kiddie at Man City and we see it occasionally, but we need to see it more often. I think he'll start against Norwich.

What was the formation when Joselu came on? Did Diouf go out wide? Yep, then drifted in from the wing when balls were being put into the box.

I don't see a central Afellay working. He's got pace and trickery and is a winger. He shouldn't start next week but could be a key impact player.

Hughes got it right by taking walters and van G off. They were both having poor games. Arnie was motm and Ireland was great too. We should start with the team that finished and bring shaqiri on after 60mins in our next match. Joselu had nothing but scraps but looked better up top and Dioufs pace destroyed them second half.

Ireland away is magic, it's not the first time he's bossed it at CAM. Swansea away a season or so ago he was magical then too he has it in him, he doesn't do it week in week out but he's someone you want to have in your toolbox and ecstatic for the lad.

Ireland always excels when he's got intelligent, like minded footballers surrounding him.
His Stoke career is far from over.

My only real worry with this team is that we haven't replaced NZonzi. He was the central turning point that bought us time in midfield, covered well, held things together and linked front and back.
Our attacking options are now ridiculous: Afelleay, Diouf, Arnie, Bojan, Shaqiri, El Ouriachi, Joselu, Ireland and of course Walters, Crouch, Adam. 11 players competing for 4 spots is going to leave some of them very unhappy.
A lot of teams get super excited about their attacking options but forget the spine. I still think Chelsea's best signing in recent years is Matic.

Well, looking forward to MOTD tonight now.
Hope they highlight this performance, I haven't seen everyone so pleased with an individual performance in a long time.
