Is there a seeding system, or have I just made this up?

Could be up against the old Vale after their stunning victory against recent Premier League giants Burnley last night In fairness did you notice there was a bloody good gate for that game? Not far shy of 5000, I am guessing Burnley brought quite a few. Either way I hope its not a prelude to the Vale having a better than expected season.

Is there a seeding system, or have I just made this up? There was last year. The Premier League teams and the top few Championship clubs (if there's any left after last night!) were seeded and couldn't play each other. Presume its still in place.

Seem to think that it's the PL top 12, plus those who were in Europe, who will be seeded. Or is it that all this ambition and excitement has affected my brain?
(That's s rhetorical question btw.)

I do want to see another Potteries derby it's been around 14 years since we've had one, but if the unthinkable happened then it would be embarrassing

That's just a lose/lose situation for me. 1. We have to go to Vagrant Park and incur the subsequent de-lousing fees 2. If we win well we should do and if we somehow lose well....

I went to watch this game last night, just £5 to get in for us golden oldies. Burnley had about a 1,000 fans there. They looked a shadow of the team that played in the prem last year. Kightly played but did nothing and George Boyd, who got all the plaudits last season, was very poor. I think Mr Dyche has a hard long season ahead of him.

Not quite right, but almost, the 12 Prem teams that are not in Europe enter at the 2nd round, with the 8 in Europe entering in the 3rd. And yes, as far as I know there can be no all prem ties to try to generate cash for lower league clubs...Not sure if there are any other seeds though..

The very very very last team I want us to play is the Vile.
Hated derby's then and would hate another one now.

Just googled it and all 12 prem teams are seeds, plus the 12 highest placed League teams. So 24 seeds, 24 non seeds, so good potential for some giant killing...

Vale away or at home offers nothing for us. Income from gate receipts is irrelevant for us and why risk our players getting lumps kicked out of them and picking up injuries ?
The only people who'd benefit would be them getting a bumper crowd cash injection and who wants that to happen ?
Anyone but them for me.

I'd love nothing more than for Stoke to stroll into their ground and humiliate them under the lights with a packed out away end.

I always try to get down there about once a season myself, I'm not quite sure why! Radio 5 had a reporter at the game and from what he was saying Vale were mostly on top so it does indeed sound like it may be a tough season ahead for Burnley and Mr. Dyche.

There was a bloke interviewing fans outside the Brit on Sunday. Take it he was off Radio Stoke. Could anyone tell me his name?

The trouble with playing the Vale is, we would have to put out a strong side to avoid any embarressment and we could end up with a few injuries, so lets keep well clear of the soap dodgers.

Yeah they did have a big enough gate, because the fuckers park all around my house.

Nice to think that, having finished 9th last year, we'll technically be the highest ranked team in the entire draw...

There was a couple interviewing from William Hill, I got inteviewed but I can't find it on the website, unless you need to be registerd first. Vale at home would be good, more fans will get in to see it.

Wouldn't be any need to play the likes of Bojan, Shaq etc now against lower league opposition would there?
Ireland & Sidwell in middle.
Walters, Odem, Moha & Crouch front 4.
If that cant do a job then...
