Diouf's output can be slightly improved.
We need more from Bojan and especially Arnie.

Can see us scoring a record amount of goals this season, from all over the pitch to be honest. We are so versatile now up front. Hard to say who the top scorer will be though, I'm gonna say Diouf, but I think we will score a lot of goals even if he is not on the end of them

I honestly think we're a 20 a season striker away from top 6 and Europe. Now I'm not saying either that a 20 a goal striker isn't already at the club... We know Diouf played out wide too often last year, we know he didn't really get the service that would allow him to thrive, we know Bojan missed half of the season... Problem I have is believing we can't improve with Shaqiri, a full seasons worth of Bojan, and a full season of Diouf up top! Maybe I need to temper my expectations and come down from this Shaqiri induced high... But my god, how exciting is this gonna be?! Diouf WILL get more than 15 this season. As for Joselu, he'll bag the winner in our FA Cup final haha If Diouf, Joselu and Bojan all get 15+... We'd better start packing our suitcases!

An on loan Loic Remy busting a gut to get in the France squad next summer would be nice...

I love it when this topic comes up, people still seem to think we're in the third division. In the last ten years there have been an average of two to three "20 a season strikers" per season in the Premier League. Obviously they are almost entirely exclusive to the top six - the level we're talking about here is Suarez, Van Persie, Henry, Drogba, Rooney. In some seasons no player, from all the teams in the division, managed twenty goals. So yeah, in the ridiculous parallel dimension where we had a striker of that quality, then obviously it might be possible we could be up there. Just one of our players reaching 15 is massively unlikely - as for three doing it, you'd get better odds of Stoke doing the double.

Is it better to rely on one player to score the goals (who is one bad tackle away from being out for the season) or a myriad of players chipping in?
I know what I prefer and it's exactly where Stoke's squad sits at the moment.
We've got five or six players who could get double figures (I stress could!)

See I don't think it is highly unlikely for Diouf to bag 4 more this season... 3X players in 15+, yes. Hence the suitcase joke. But I reckon Diouf will get 15+

I think we need to build on this squad the rest of this window and again in january, last thing we want now is an average season for us but with shaqiri impressing and moving on leaving us back to square one again. We need another push to make sure we do well this season id go for sergio roberto in january when barcas transfer ban is up, yarmalenko now if possible, give diouf till christmas and if he still has a touch like an elephant possibly another striker. Jumping the gun and probably no chance but a team of Butland Johnson Muniesa Shawcross Pieters Roberto Whelan Shaqiri Bojan Arnie Diouf Would be absolutley unreal

Bojan got 5 in maybe 13 starts last year. A full fit season and he's capable of 15 as is Diouf if he stays centrally.

Once he found his feet last season, Bojan scored 5 goals in 8 games (in league and cup) - if he is fit enough to start games by early September, then I'd be very surprised if he doesn't get 15 league goals this season if he recovers full form and fitness. Diouf should be good for 15 if he maintains the form he showed in the second half of last season. I'd be delighted if Shaq got 10 and Arnie got 5 - and if we get Yarmo he could be another 15 goal man! I'd also expect many more from Afellay and/or VG than we got from N'Zonzi. I think we'll get 10 or 15 more than last season's total.

This "15 goal a season" striker is a complete myth.
I've never bought into it, once.

To compete close to the big 6 we simply have to have that player with the potential to hit 15 + goals that what really makes the difference between mid table and Euro qualifiers. Chelsea ManCity Manure Liverpool (think Suarez) SPurs with Kane and its no secret that its what Arse lack at the moment. Diouf is decent but not in the same bracket as say Pelle Benteke Kane etc. Such players are sadly out of reach and this factor will be a real challenge to overcome. Meanwhile Diouf is now a good bet for 10+ but if you look where the goals came from last season it was Walters Crouch and Adam....all 3 are likely to be marginal players. In their places will be Bojan Joselu Arnie Afellay MVG and Shaq out of which only Joselu and Bojan have a decent scoring record none of the others are prolific.Bojan will get games but will Joselu? Its a fair question the OP asks and although not a huge concern it will be interesting to see how the new boys fair with finding the target, at least 2 of them need to deliver at a similar rate to the guys being marginalised

Who will be our 15+ goal man this year We all know what your real problem is. We've got more attacking options than you can shake a stick at.

With Bojan, Shaqiri, Arnie, Rip van Winkle, Adam and Afellay firing in the crosses and through balls Diouf will have plenty of chances to score goals this season.
