Remember, I never forgot.
Would have fitted in the current squad seamlessly.

I can’t forget Tuncay, I was as excited about his signing as I am today about Shaqiri. I’m not saying he is as good or better, but at the time he was a massive leap in class. but we had a manager who had other ideas.
The Hull fiasco was one of my lowest points being a Stoke supporter. It was truly humiliating for him.
It was a terrible move for him but he gave us glimpses of a very wonderful talent. Will remember his contributions against Man Utd and Man City for a very long time. He always worked his bollocks off too when he got a chance.
He is 33, this is a good move.
He will be well looked after in Pune. Its a good place to be at the moment, just had a friend who has moved out there to teach, doubling their wage from what they were earning here. Lots of money, appreciation, a great enthusiasm for the game, its a very cultural and vibrant city near to Mumbai.

It shouldn't be difficult for him to find a taxi out there.

Never quite understood why Tuncay was always criticized for 'running around like a headless chicken' while Walters was/is praised for 'running his socks off'. I only saw the games on television, however, so perhaps SJW's off the ball movements were more intelligent. I'm open minded to being enlighted on this matter.
One thing I do know is that Tuncay led the team in goals per minute played during his first season with us. I never really felt like he got a fair shake.

Remember his equaliser against Manchester United at the Britannia? It was an absolute beauty, curled in to the top corner beyond their hapless keeper. I was sure we would secure the draw after that but I think it was Hernandez who did for us right at the end.

Perhaps his only highlight in a Stoke shirt, a stunning moment and one where I thought we might actually have United's pants down. Wasn't to be. On another note, Nicky Shorey plays for them. Weren't we in for him a few years ago?

I enjoyed that Indian league last time. Love how the boisterous crowd go crazy if Tendulkar is shown on the big screen! ☺

Tunny was actually blamed for that goal by some idiots, despite the fact we had eight defenders in the box trying to hang on for the draw!

I vaguely remember an incident where Tuncay lost the ball about fifteen yards over the half-way line and the opposition brought the ball back down on us to earn a corner on which they scored. And some were on here blaming Tuncay for the goal. Is that the same one?

In my mind he was (or should have been) the catalyst in moving to the next level. However unfortunately as you say, the manager of the day had different ideas. I was as excited about his arrival as you were and even bought a Tuncay fez. Didn't wear it much though!! Anyone who denies this guys class, just doesn't recognise a footballer.

He was very much of the opinion that the game over there will grow at a very fast rate. It seems to be a very un-balanced country - poverty in many places and extreme wealth in others.

I'm not ashamed to say that I was so excited about his signing that I raced down to the Mich to see his first training session. He had the skills, but wasn't what our team required at the time. He would be far more suited to the current day Stoke City.
Looking forward to seeing him and Simmo on telly later this year!

I was never a PHW but he got royally shat on by that regime and it was a fucking disgrace; he could have been as good as Fuller if he didn't dress/look like a "fancy Dan" (that run up the tunnel didn't do him any favours but he should have never been humiliated at Hull).
