I really dispear when people knock Diouf because he is really an honest trier! He runs his socks off for the team, and yes he misses some glorious chances, but he time after time gets into these positions! And finally he scores the decisive goal! I really respect this guy for his comittment and ability to finally make it! Mame you're the real man here, I really appreciate the job you do for the team!

There is a couple of posters on here that really slated Diouf today... Those posters really exposed themselves for the dumbasses they really are.

Calling others dumbasses possibly exposed you to be a bigger dumbass than all the rest. Diouf is to be admired for his commitment and and yes he does get into good positions which is why he's a striker in a premier league team and not a stacker at ASCO and it's also his duty to be more clinical in front of goal which unfortunately he isn't. This team is so good and has so much quality going forward now that a clinical forward would be on 20+ a season. Unfortunately diouf isn't and its so frustrating as he does all the hard work into getting into such good positions just to flaff his lines at the final moment

Stellar performance from Diouf today.
As Mark Hughes said, he met a couple of the headers almost too well and the one which went in was the glancing one but that's how it goes sometimes in the goal scoring game.

Wasnt far off man of the match for me today, and I rate him right up there as one of Hughes best signings.

We'll be lucky to hold onto the lad next season.

5 shots and every one on target. The lad's off the mark an once he gets consistent service he's going to get a sackful. That sprint down the wing in the last 5 minutes was amazing even if it did nearly kill him. Like Les some of us have backed this lad from day one. Key, key player for our side. Can't say enough good things about this lad. Always making good runs, striker's nose for goal, short memory, and strikes fears in defenders. Right up there with Bojan as Les's greatest signing. I still maintain that he'll bag 15-20 goals this season. People do realise that if he was as clinical as they'd like he'd have got FIVE goals yesterday?... If that was against a lesser keeper yesterday and not one of the top 10 keepers in the world. Diouf would have had a hat trick. He's as good as a striker as we can expect at our level

Fortunately Diouf only slightly touched the second otherwise it would have no doubt been straight at Lloris. It was one of those days. On another day he would have scored at least one of the other two headers he missed. Good to get a point in the end with Arnie and Ireland working well together and certainly looked stronger with Diouf on the right and Joselu as striker

Diouf looked much better when he was moved out onto the wing for me. My problem, which is just my opinion, is that a striker who has the class that we now have behind him should be finishing the chances that diouf had today. I'd be more happy to accept it if his link up/hold up play was good and allowed the others to get into it around him, but he just doesn't seem to have the control for that. His movement is excellent and he's always the man in the right place to get chances, but that isn't enough to be our main man in this new look squad. Just my opinion

In other news, what a ducking result that was. The last game I'll be able to go to for ages and it definitely lived upto standard. MAARC MUNIEISA

Has he got 2 years left on his contract? Think his contract runs to the summer of 2018. Lads, Not so much a question of how long his contract runs, more of a matter of how much a big club is going to be willing to splash the cash on a 20+ goal a season Prem striker.

Not many premier league strikers would have found the positions to potentially score a hat trick away at spurs. I think that illustrates what an important player he's going to be this season.

Was out and about Satdee and had to miss the R5 commentary In my parallel universe the Oatie match thread was my only link to reality (thanks lads and lasses). Had a 5 min trip in the car: Switched on radio BOOM Arnies penno goes in, then Diouf's yedder. If I'd listened for the full 90 we'd a won 36-2. Soz about that

massive result, the charactor shown to draw level when 2-0 is a credit to Hughesy and the squad, starting the season off with 2 defeats would have been naff.

Hi all, I just reviewed the game over on my YouTube, any feedback or anything would be appreciated Maybe it's nerves or inexperience, but a bit repetitive at times. Other than that you came across very well. Well done young man. Wishing you all the best for the rest of the season with your YT channel.
