Can't wait for the season to start. The midfield teams all seem optimistic about their summer(besides us maybe) and it looks to be a good year for the league. But it's all just guessing right now. Can't wait.

We are probably the hardest team to predict at the moment, as there has been some big changes for us. It will all come down to players form/fitness and of course Injuries and very much our managers prowess now, as we are all wondering who is going to play where. I know many dont agree, but I think we are short of quality players in defence and could really struggle if our captain misses half the season - this may jeopardise any chance of a top half finish again. We have not looked brill in the last couple of friendlies and I do think Nzonzi will be a massive loss. For me, at the moment we are a weaker squad than the one that started last season and I think we will all have a better idea of how the season is going to pan out after dozen games or so.
We could be the surprise team this season, but at the moment, just not quite what that surprise is going to be.

You've noticed as well mate. Its becoming laughable on here if you dare to question anything at all.

We had the 6th best defence in the Premiership last season. So if we can contain that level defence wise who knows

At the moment there's no way we'll be top 6 as there's too many unanswered questions over fitness of key players. If we have a good run at it with 1/2 more additions we might just do it. These are the keys for me
- Ryans fitness. I'm not convinced by the alternatives particularly against top strikers. - we HAVE to get a top RW in. - Van Ginkle. How good is he? - How fit will Bojan, Odom and Afellay be after bad injuries. All can be match winners.

Without loads of things dropping for us then im going to say no. I think even to get to 7th place we need a 20+ goal scorer (Austin), a wizard on the wing (Yamo or Shaq) and a top def mid (? a Yaya type) on top of the players we have already.

I think we some times under evaluate how good we are, the hammers fan on an earlier thread summed it up, we seem to not realise what we have become, whether that's because we have this mind set of "not for the likes of us" or what. why not believe we can be up there challenging for the top 4, why should we think that we are punching above our weight, let us go into the season with a mindset that we can beat anyone and we deserve to be challenging for the top 4?

We shouldn't even be thinking about this
We have overachieved for the last 2 seasons
We have lost the spine of our team
I will be happy being top of the bottom 6, that will do me.
Hang in there boys!

More like could we finish top 15 and even then that's questionable.

Mid table again, yes we've lost 3 players that have been good for us, but we still have most of the squad that achieved those two consecutive 9th placed finishes.

Very hard to predict this year, mainly due to the relatively high possibility of injuries to the defence. I think Butland will be fine as long as he can have confidence in a consistent set up in front of him and if he gets that we can go one better than last year, but if Ryan's back starts to let him down and It turns out that Wolly has not improved over last season, then I fear we may fall back to 12th or 13th. This. It would be nice to have a consistent back four, would immensely help our cause, and the hopeful marquee signing with a bit of pace!!

Our defence looks very suspect without Ryan, letting Huth go when he was obviously fit is a shocking decision his replacement is fucking mind boggling.
