Traded in 6 Xbox One games and 2 3DS games into GAME on the way home from work today for £130. I got it on a gift card so I could pre-order the MGS limited edition PS4 console. Just need a PS4 to complete the three big consoles (Yeah, ok. Wii-U probably doesn't count). Anyway, stupid old me didn't think things through and have found out the hard way that you can't pre-order using a gift card. As annoyed as I was with the member of staff in store for not making me aware of this (he knew my intention), it does make sense since they don't take payment until the console is being shipped and they take gift cards as immediate payment. The upside is it means I haven't rushed into ordering the limited edition console and I have been given time to actually think through my options. The bundles on their website that I'm interested in are as follows.
MGS Limited Edition with the new game (assuming I'd be able to use my gift card in store for the pre-order, and assuming the price is the same in store) - £364.99 PS4 500GB with Bloodborne - £289.99 PS4 500GB with God Of War 3 Remastered + The Last Of Us Remastered - £324.99
I love the MGS series. Just started Dark Souls 2 on Xbox and love it (although not far in at all at the moment). Never played a God of War game. Never played Last of Us but have only seen good things said about it and have been looking for a good survival horror for quite a while.
Now Last of Us on it's own is £35 so combining with the Bloodborne bundle would also be £324.99. I'll be getting those two and MGS at some point, regardless of the bundle I end up getting. This basically means that 500GB + Bloodborne + Last Of Us + MGS would be not much more than the MGS limited edition bundle with just the one game.
My question for you is, as much as I like MGS and as much as I like how good the console looks, is it really worth the extra money when I could get Bloodborne and Last Of Us with a normal console? Which bundle would you recommend (given I haven't had a playstation since PS2)?

That MGS limited edition looks sweet.
I couldn't get into Bloodborne where as Last of Us is arguably the greatest game ever.

The only downside to how it looks is the fact that it has the game's name printed on it. It's fairly obvious that it would, with it being the limited edition of that game, but you get some limited edition consoles without it, which I kind of prefer (like the Legend of Zelda 3DSs that just have the iconic images on).

Get the console and Bloodborne (Which I might add is a superb game and my game of this generation thus far) for £289.99 and pick up The Last Of Us digital for £6.99 using a US PSN account, more information, www.hotukdeals.com/deals/last-remastered-ps4-6-66-cdkeys-fb-like-accounts-2244562. (Create your main UK account which you will game on, add friends on etc. Create another account using any US details, download it from the US store using the code you purchase from CDKeys but so long as the US PSN account is on your PS4 even though your logged into the UK account you can cross play the game) Also just to mention the £289.99 prices won't last as the reason is due to another PS4 model the CUH-1200 slowly filtering through into shops which will become the main PS4 model from here on out once the older stock as sold which is what they're doing now. The CUH-1200 is slightly lighter, runs slightly cooler and has less power consumption than the current model plus it no longer has the glossy sided cover rather now both covers are matt. Plus the console has actual buttons which you press to power on the console and open disc drive rather than the touch sensor ones. If your interested in this model (In the UK the model number is CUH-1216) ask 'em if they have any in stock and buy one at the current price but with this console legally I don't see how they couldn't but as I said the £289.99 price is to sell the older stock as most won't have any clue about the newer model. Sorry about the long post but you know it all now ha.

To 99% of gamers it's no better or worse, it plays exactly the same as the older model. For the tech savvy the hardware has been optimized without compromise and it's now lighter, consumes less power and run's cooler reducing the fan noise. The main differences you'll see by eye are the cover is now full matte rather than half matte half gloss and the buttons are physical buttons rather than touch sensitive. CUH-1216 Older model
