Been a while since I posted on any of the Stoke boards. Real life just got in the way.
I recall many times in 2003/4/5/6 saying that we must always get behind our manager and the team. It cannot be denied that Stoke fans seem to have a propensity for moaning and complaining. Get behind the team and the manager is what I've always said. I said back then, that one day we would do it because the club has been heading in the right direction for quite a few years now. It was always a question of when.
I confess I wouldn't have thought we'd do it this year...I thought we needed another season at least. But it's fantastic to have got there, through the automatic route as well. And a *huge* well done to the manager and the players and, yes, Peter Coates too, for sticking at it and getting the job done.
Amongst all the other positives to take from this wonderful season, there's one nobody else has mentioned! Hopefully now those who kept saying Pulis was not the man and we should have had Lou "Stoke God" Macari back will shut up. Lou Macari cannot any longer be a true God, he has been usurped. Long live the NEW God, the worshipful Emperor Pulis.
Not to take anything away from Macari's great achievements for the club, but just as I get fed up with people going on about the League Ruddy Cup in the seventies, you cannot live in the past forever. Now, we live in the future....and the future is the Premiership! At long last!
ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY PULIS!
(I shall return to this thread later, fully expecting those who doubted Pulis to come along and eat their words. Or their hats. I can provide hats for consumption if needs be.)

Wondered who'd be the first "Told you so" - might have been acceptable if it had been a regular poster/attender such as Momo or MCF who have been consistent and vocal in their support for Pulis but not really sure we need your divisive contribution on a great day like this, so thanks for dropping by but now sod off back to your "real life"

Scrotnig. I realise what you are saying, but the "League Ruddy Cup" was what we won. I was there for the FA cup semi finals, and the play offs, but what you have got to realise is that we have won sod all. Today is the greatest day in our history. Please don't slag off our previous success

I rate attending games higher than posting on message boards. In fact, even if you add in my posts on the old board, I've attended more games in the past three years than I've made posts. Probably.

Please don't slag off our previous success I apologise if you thought I was slagging off our previous successes. far from it. It just got a bit a bit embarrassing hearing it trotted out all the time, usually accompanied by moans about the then current team, when we should have been behind the team, behind the manager. That's all I'm really saying. Today we have won something - promotion to the Premiership. Right here, right now, that feels a thousand times more important than the league cup win. Maybe it won't on Monday, but I suspect it will!

PS I wasn't the first "I told you so" either...there's already a thread running, complete with a couple of apologies to Pulis!
