Eric Skeels, Terry Conroy, Brendan O'Callaghan, Peter Reid, Adrian Heath, Graham Shaw, James O'Connor. All spotted in the Castle Mona in Newcastle over the years. Eric Skeels was watching the footie and cried "yessss!" and pumped his arm when Man Utd scored

Eric Skeels used to live in a council house at the top of my mum and dads road. Used to see him waiting for a bus. Very sad. When I knew** Eric Skeels he lived in Endon. That was in the mid-late seventies. Has he fallen on hard times since? ** played in the same kids team as his son Jeremy for a season. Couldn't possibly say if he has or hasn't. Just found it very sad that a former top level footballer would be living in a council house and using public transport, in comparison to today's pampered lot.

Well that was deeply weird. I'm sitting in a playground at Warwick castle reading this thread and look up to see Tony Mowbray nod hello to me as he walks past! Saw Ron Atkinson there a couple of months ago.

Alan bloor used to get in the bookies in Weston coyney most days. Most stoke players used to go to the place in hanley, peter Osgood would come up quite regular too. Saw both john marsh and alan Hudson get twatted outside the place, too cocky.

Saw Ric in Festival Park the day he signed for Charlton, at the time I was hoping he was still going to sign a new contract, he shattered my dreams when he told me he was literally on the way to sign elsewhere that day.

My mate used to work in Curry's at Crewe. Had Leon Cort come in and buy a fridge and Andy Wilkinson walk round eating Wotsits, covering his entire face and all the surrounding white goods in orange cheese powder.

Forgot to mention Denis Smith [ how could I forget] ? After the Ajax game I was staying at a B&B as I couldn't be arsed driving back to Bournemouth after the game Went into the supporters bar [the one under the main stand at the Vic] and managed to get a table After 10 mins I felt a tap on my shoulder, looked round and it was Denis with his wife, asking if they could sit at the table with me, obviously I said yes, and then began a long conversation about me, and him, was surprised that a strong rugged CH had such a quiet gentle voice, and he asked me if I played. Yes, I play for Everton",, his eyes widened and said ive never seen you on the field. When I told him Everton was a small village in the New Forest, he laughed Fantastic meeting him

Phil Bardsley held open a gate for me in March as we were both going into the Cheltenham Festival at the same time. Sat at dinner table with Dean Lewington (MK Dons) at a function years back. Saw Lou Macari at Euston Station years ago, when he was Stoke manager. Yeah I saw Lou at the hospital last year when visiting my mum. Forgotten about that.
Apparently he still calls in the McDonalds Trent Vale from time to time. Apparently Andy Griffin is a regular in there too.

Saw Stanley Matthews with his wife in Tesco Trent Vale back in the mid 90s on a Friday evening. I'd gone with my Mum to help her with the shopping - she said she saw him & his wife in there every week.

A group of 5 of us were all sat on the rows behind John Barnes on the flight back from Amsterdam last year.
Luckily for him it's only a 45 minute flight because I'm sure the near constant drunken singing of "Do It For England" was wearing thin. How original we must have been...
