Given 6 (nothing to do) Muni 7 (good going forwards) GC 7 (not as good as against Liverpool - but good enough) Wooly 7 (fine) Bards 7 (unlucky going forwards) Glenn 7 (solid) Sidwell 8 (everywhere) Arnie 8 (another excellent game and he showed it matters to him) Crouch 7 (some decent headers) Odim 6 (off the pace again) Van Ginkle 7 (needs games but positive)
Adam 7 Jesulu 6 Moha 7 eager! Wilson 6 Diouf 6 (get those misses out of the way now Mama)

Again, they got a run out and that's all that matters - 10.

Muni's such a good player. What a signing.
Arnie's looking like an absolute monster too.

Pretty pleased with today but we'll need patience at the start of the season. Wingie is miles off, Van Ginkel has obvious talent and vision but is only 22 and will take time to settle and wont be controlling games for a while yet and Joselu looks a real slow burner if he's going to work out at all. Plus, all the niggles just keep on coming. Think it may be a bit of a slow start to the season myself.
If Muniesa can keep fit, I would put my last penny on him being player of the season next year. He's a true class act.

You'll soon go off him once Sparky has him playing in the middle alongside Ryan week after week.

To be fair I never liked him at left back, much preferring Erik but he now looks like he could play anywhere on the pitch to me. Left back gives us a bit more opportunity to see his talents in the opposition half but looking at the alternatives I hop he plays 38 games at centre back with Ryan

Cheers for the thread, OP. Missed the game due to work.
How well did the team play though? A little summary would be much appreciated. Did we play as well as we did against EFC?
Thanks in advance.

The side looked reasonably fit and sharp. Odemwingie looked a bit lacking then fizzed into life for 5 minutes before his subbing. Cameron looked very assured at Centre half. Midfield was very fluid with Van Ginkel slightly at the tip of a three but swapping with Sidwell. Crouch looked very rusty, as did Diouf's finishing. Moha looks very very quick and hungry. Arnie looks very sharp. Overall though we looked in reasonable nick for this part of pre season.

Muni is very good going forward - passing, vision, and shooting ; I saw him get his brace at Sunderland, BUT he is suspect as FB defending* and much better as CB. *Come to think of it, a bit like, Johnson.

It was encouraging to be fair, when you realise it's only the second game.

Van Ginkel outside chance at player of the season. I think there are a few right now. Muniesa, Arnie, MVG and Wollscheid.
