Early I know, but what the heck...
Haugaard - 8 (excellent debut) Bards - 6 (could barely run for the last 20 mins) Tex - 6 (not too bad apart from his crossing). Muni - 7 (solid) GC - 9 (excellent last ditch challenges and one fantastic run forwards) Sidwell - 6 (OK) Ireland - 7 (excellent fitness) Arnie - 8 (star of the first half) Ollie - 6 (promising) Jesulu - 7 (decent start) Odim - 6 (seemed to be lacking a bit of pace?)
Adam - 7 (some excellent passes) Wilson - 6 (one dreadful mistake where he was saved by the flag) Crouch - 6 (didn't really do too much) VG - 6 (Couple of excellent runs but nearly gave a way a silly goal at the end)

Noticed Odem's pace issues when he tried to knock it past that LB but to be fair he is what 33 I don't know whether we should expect him to still have the pace of a raw 19 year old

Haugaard - 8 (Excellent debut!) Bards - 6 (Ok, but not more than that. Better in the first half.) Tex - 6 (Not too bad apart from his crossing). Muni - 8 (Very solid.) GC - 9 (Excellent last ditch challenges and one fantastic run forward. Super athlete!) Sidwell - 7 (Solid) Ireland - 7.5 (Excellent fitness!) Arnie - 8.5 (star of the first half) Ollie - 6 (Promising, but needs to play in the centre. Clearly lost on the left side.) Joselu - 6 (Decent start, but nothing more.) Odim - 5 (Didn't create enough for me, seemed to be lacking a bit of pace?)
Adam - 7 (Some excellent passes, and some awful ones as well. A really bad decision just outside our own box too. Makes things happen!) Wilson - 7 One dreadful mistake where he was saved by the flag. But Lukaku put the hands in his face, didn't he?) Crouch - 6 (Didn't really do too much.) VG - 6 (Couple of excellent runs, but nearly gave away a silly goal at the end.)

Haugaard - 8 great debut Bards - 6 used his energy a bit too early great pen though Tex - 6 needs time and confidence, grew into the game Muni - 7 needs improve fitness but that's what pre season is for GC - 9.5 great game best player on the pitch in the end Sidwell - 7 thought he did well very vocal Ireland - 6 needed to be more creative with passing Arnie - 9 if he starts the season like that were in for a treat Ollie - 7 great cross first half some neat passing and all round neat tidy play Jesulu - 6 needed to make a few more runs, I think he will hit the ground running though when the season kicks in Odim - 6 seemed to be lacking confidence to take a player on
Adam - 6vsome decent passes Wilson - 5 average not great not poor Crouch - 5 didn't see much of the ball VG - 5 he needs fitness and confidence he's quicker than I thought though Walters- 5 didn't see much of the ball

Marking them all is a bit much in our first run out, but Haugaard, Cameron and Ireland, of those who played a full game, stood out, whilst Arnie was the star of the first half. Jonny Tex predictably showed he is no full back, whilst, without Arnie, we looked bereft of any thrust from out wide.
It was a good work out, in high humidity, which all involved will feel better for in terms of match fitness (although it was alarming that Adam, who showed up brightly at first after coming on, looked more knackered after 20 minutes than those who'd been on from the start).

He was solid enough defending (once the centre halves told him where to go), but has no technical ability to come forward as a full back, which is a necessity in the modern game. He needs a loan to a lower league club to find his feet at centre back.

Haugaard - 9 (excellent debut) spot on Bards - 5 time to go Tex - 5 Poor Muni - 6 good GC - 9 good job he was awake Sidwell - 5 Ireland - 6 flatters to deceive looks great never quite makes it Arnie - 9 by far the most talented player on the pitch either side Ollie - 5 Not ready yet put him out on loan poor touch let him down on more than one occasion Jesulu - 5 Poor off the pace clearly needed more time than he was allowed Odim - 5 Doesn't look fully fit yet Adam - 8 Real quality passes and the usual dtermination Wilson - 5 half asleep at times Crouch - 5 Can only see him as an impact sub from now on Van the man - 6 Showed some class but a bit lacking in desire could be a great signing with some work
MOTM clearly Haugaard after that performance I would not paste Butland in as clear No 1. let them fight for it.

Considering it was our 1st game after what, a week of training I thought we were pretty decent for the most part. Not as far off the pace as I expected. The keeper,Arnie and Cameron were the bright lights for me.

Couple of people saying our midfielders didn't use the ball well in the final third but I felt they were quite short on options a lot of times especially from the right

Marks as ukcstokie. It was good to see players whom I have seen little of never seen play.
Haugaard looked solid and commanding and a leftie. Tex - Grew into the game and would have gained a lot of confidence. Ollie - You see the potential but that 70 mins would have done him the world of good looked tired at the end. Odem - good to see him get some minutes in and could have scored. Joselu - Some good touches and vision. Starting to learn to fit in the team.
The season pros show their experience Geoff Cam, Charlie Adam and Arnie magical first half vision.
Over all for a first friendly a good performance and three great chances created. A lot of promise.

Watched the game in glimpses on my Sky Go on works computer(between me and this board). One thing that stood out for me is how lean Charlie Adam looked, don't think he's been like that since he joined.Keeper looked decent to,good start for the lad.
