Firstly, I'd like to point you to this article that lists all of Robert Huth's goals for Stoke. The importance of every strike cannot be underestimated. Of course Huth will be missed as a character at the club but let's not forget that he barely played for us in the last 18 months so shouldn't be a massive loss on the pitch. However, moving forward it would be great to add a goalscoring defender to our ranks to replace those goals that he did score for us. In recent years we've had Leon Cort and Ryan Shawcross chip in with goals, but Ryan's return of seven league goals in his last five seasons is hardly setting the world alight. Part of the reason for the dry up in goals is the loss of Rory Delap and his throw, but we must improve our scoring record from our back four (as well as from set pieces in general). Any good scoring defenders out there to be had? Do you think it is an important piece of the jigsaw we perhaps lack or am I talking nonsense? Still, we're not as bad as Swansea. They didn't have one goal from a defender last season!

Suspect Muni will chip in with a couple
Ryans main flaw for me is his lack of goals he should get around 5 goals a season
Pieters,Bardsley & all the others,they don't score.
10+ goals from the entire defensive squad too much too ask? 5?

Bristol City centerback Aiden Flint scored 15 league goals last season. Don't know whether they was all penalties?

Now we have signed Wollscheid, do we really have space for another CB?
Shawcross Muniesa Wollscheid Wilson Cameron
I think it is more important to bring in a RB that is the same quality as the other 3 before trying to sign a specific type of defender that probably wouldn't start anyway. We must build the CB future around Ryan and Marc.

Muni is more than capable of scoring a few if he's given the license to get forward ,

Huth scored most of his goals from set pieces and our delivery from set pieces rarely beat the first man nowadays

To be fair Ryan has missed one or two easy chances this last season.
