AlabiDid he sign for Ipswich from us or was he a free agent? Thought he was supposed to be one of the better ones?

Game starts at 7. How good is Lecygne? Could he eventually receive some time this season in Whelan's role?

Moha only u21 in the squad to play Luton then? Looks like it I suppose we've a lot of senior players who need some game time so we probably need to give them a run out first. I'd like to have seen Telford make the bench but we've Crouch and Joselu who need some time. It would be have been good to Shenton as well but I suppose Ireland needs to start in the number 10 role with Bojan also getting a run out. Its a long old season so I'd expect one or two of the better U21s to make the bench at some point

Come on Molina

Glad to see Molina starting now - comes with some good reviews from Real. Better to let these kids get game time in their age group for now, instead of letting lower league hackers loose on their shins. I hope it is not windy tomorrow, as a good gust could blow Moha away!

Lecygne has been playing U-21 football for 2/3 seasons now, he needs to go out on loan to show he can do it in a proper league.

Standard has suffered a defeat. Not on but off the field. It tried in the transfer of Thibaud Verlinden to Stoke City still dragging a financial bonus from the fire, but it failed.
Standard wanted to pull out all the stops and clung hose to 300,000 euros, but must eventually resigned to 40,000 euros.
Last weekend was the entourage of the player finally green light. The subcommittee Minors of the FIFA Status Committee Player approved the application for issue of the International Transfer Certificate good. In other words, FIFA has assigned the youth international final of 'The Potters'. Verlinden is signed for three years and is housed at U18. That reports De Morgen.

You've missed the best bit out.....that it was from a bastard set piece! So it would appear that we've gone from training set pieces and shape all the time to training set pieces none of the time. I wonder if we could bring in Tone (after his next fall out) as a set piece coach a bit like those Yanks have in the NFL.

Good news, I haven't watched the U-18's so far this season but the teams they've put out are missing a natural winger in them so hopefully we'll get even better after a pretty decent start.

2 very tricky games coming up in Everton and Sunderland, not normally fixtures you would bank on getting much from! I'm looking forward to seeing Verlinden play, I've heard good things so far.

Hey oatcake, I'm still pretty unfamiliar with the u21 structure/quality. Would you rank most u21 squads under league 2 competition? I understand the premise, but how good can expect the teams to be?

Can anyone see any academy players even making the bench this year?? Moha might get to play in the cup and Mosely could be backup if Pieters gets injured but other than that i really can't see anyone of them getting near the match day squad. Ironically i'm ranked as a academy starlet

Ironically i'm ranked as a academy starlet I do think that Hughes will give a chance to anyone who he and his staff think deserve a chance. This will likely be against one of the 'lesser' teams, a cup game or sub where we are in a strong league position. He won't want to destroy their confidence by giving them a start and facing someone like Hazard in full flow or Kompany with the bit between his teeth

He informs me that, through his contacts, the view is that Hughes is less keen on giving youngsters a chance thanPulis !
