He's definitely got something (you certainly can't teach that balance and searing pace), but suppose it's too early to know exactly what. He may be a star, or never play a first team game! He's totally unproven at anything approaching senior football. Confusingly, there must be a thousand such vids of kiddies with similar skills on U-Tube, so it's nigh on impossible to judge really - but yes, there seems to be a player in there for sure.
There's also a huge dollop of "you never get fired for buying IBM" (or never used to at least) in that he's flashing the skills in a Barca kit and not that of some Greek second division side.
Also interesting to note how tame the track is.
You must have to have a full on gangsta agent or have broken the first team to get some proppa bangin' tunes under (or over in some cases).

Strange he didn't get a kick - rather than bring on SJW wide left for 20 mins, it would have been an ideal chance to give the kiddie (copyright The Capped One) a run out.

I wonder if Barca will be that happy about this. Have we actually poached him, or has this been a proper transfer. We don't want to lose any goodwill with them.

But according to bayern he is so thin that he will break into little pieces at the first tackle and needs to put on at least another 5 stone of solid muscle before he can set foot on the pitch. We're doomed I if we don't listen to bayernoatcake, the voice of reason and the thinking man's Benjaminbiscuit. Erm no! He clearly needs to put muscle on, like Muni and Bojan. He will do and he'll probably be better for it.

Should look like Arnie (no, the "I'll be back" one) in six weeks.

Jon Parkin School of Nutrition Day 1: 9am - "Right lads, first order of business, I'm the beast and I'll be your lecturer for this semester. I aren't hanging around so lets get started, breakfast. You need a healthy nutritious breakfast, so let's head to McDonalds for two double sausage and egg McMuffins and two hash browns. You can have a skinny white latte, but if you're really committed go for a mocha with extra cream." 12pm - "Dinner is the hardest meal of the day, because you should still be full from breakfast, so you might not be all that hungry, but this is about committment. The thing at this time of the day, is to grab some Oatcakes and cheese. Bang three or four of them in the microwave for 2 minutes and then eat away. For extra credit, Richmod do microwavable sausages that actually microwave on the Oatcake." 7pm - "Right lads, tea. The most important thing about tea, is to know which local takeaway does free delivery. Dominoes isn't bad, but it's quite expensive so you're best going on Tuesday as they'll chuck in a free pizza. You can eat that for breakfast the next day. I reckon tonight, we should head to KFC and get a six piece bargain bucket each, and wash it down with about 8 pint cans of Budweiser. Tesco currently doing them on offer.".

Time is money, and it's time you could be spending in the pub.

When we came into this league, Parkin was our main striker, supported by Sidibe. I think you could say that we have moved on a bit....... .

Appreciate that and I actually liked the guy enormously - harbouring a romantic notion that he would somehow defy his size and let undoubted talent and touch prevail with 40 goals that season.
It wasn't to be.

It wasn't to be. If Jon had actually lost some real weight, there's no reason he couldn't have been a competent striker in the Premier League. Like him or not (don't know of many Stoke fans who don't), his first touch was surprisingly excellent for a big man.

I said he'd take time to settle, he did, I said he'd need to bulk up, he did. I did write him off and I can tell you the exact moment it was, it was when he ran into Cissokho of Villa and bounced back further than I've ever seen a professional footballer bounce, thankfully he got better!
