Is she a reliable source? I will be genuinely gutted if Jon leaves, still think he has a very important role to play for us.

Lets be honest no-one wants to see Walters as a first choice player (well except Jon Walters) we need to do better

I assume we aren't willing to guarantee him first team football, and ultimately I'd only want him to be cover. That said he'd be good cover on the wing or as a striker so it'd be a real shame if we couldn't hold on to him to be honest

I'd be happy to see Jon as a 1st choice player - you may not have noticed but when he has been we have generally done quite well!!!

We are going to have a serious lack of "home grown" players at this rate.

After noting what she said re Konoplyanka and what she's said since, fair to say she's pretty clueless even by twitter standards.
She just tends to randomly re-heat days or week-old links

Not sure what to make of this, but if we are going to sign a top player for the RW then he wouldn't get much game time would he?
We'd have Odem plus the new RW and 3 strikers.
I like JW but sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

Not it sure if he ever did. But certain I'm glad I never saw it if his kecks came down after all.

For £2m he's worth keeping and letting his contract run down. From his perspective though he may not get another contract offer and times not his side. I doubt he'd be happy being 3rd choice RW (if we sign one) and 4th choice Striker either. Also, I think we have almost a full quota of players so if we bring anyone in we need to let one out.

It's not going to be a massive shock if Jon goes, is it?
If Tone comes in like you'd think he will I reckon he'd be off as TP will offer him a ten year deal!
Realistically we need a couple of spaces making in the squad and Walters is one who you feel could make way.

If we got Yarmolenko or a right sided wide player of that standard, we'd need to let either John or Wingie go to a) free up a place in the squad b) ensure that the right sided players got game time and c) to free up wages. If John attracts an offer it is likely to be him who would leave.

Gone are the days of offering Michael Tonge contract extensions galore for doing two-thirds of fuck all.
This is progress. And if we have to make some harsh decisions, it looks as though we will.
If Leslie feels that he can let SJW go for the good of the squad strength - it's fine by me.
I personally wouldn't let him go. But - it's what LMH wants that counts.

If TP wants him ask £5 million We'd only ask £5 million if we didn't want or need him to leave. If it suits us to allow him to go £2 million is probably about the right price.

If he does go he should go with our thanks. He owes us nothing for what he cost us and what we've got in return.

We could 'pretend' that we want to keep him. Isn't that what clubs used to do to us when Supertone was wielding the cheque book?
