A few months ago my two eldest lads went past me (height wise). I always knew this would happen - I really did, but they were 13 and 11 at the time. My 11 (now 12 year old) has now hit 6 feet tall and overtaken my Mrs (who's just a smidgen under 6"). Is this normal (my 12 year old being 5 inches taller than me) - or shouldn't I have married someone 5 inches taller than me?

It was the weirdest feeling suddenly to be shorter than my 9 year olds, they had a big feeling of power (and kindness). They'd be way taller than standing me now, 6'1 and 6'2 and still growing.

My 11 year old is just hitting 6 feet tall. I have to ask him to pass things down for me. By the time he turns 12 if he continues growing at this rate he'll be about 6'3". He's quite an affectionate lad too and likes holding hands still (just I suspect) - when I walk round town holding hands with him I don't half get some strange looks!

I wish my mrs was 6 inches taller than me, then the rubbish she talks would go clean over my head

Ukcstokie, you're five foot & a fag end? Christ, I hope I'm never walking down the same street as you, I'm worried I might step on your head.
