Soldado available... Been average at best.
With us stokies behind him could this be a goal scoring coup for us?!

Why would we need another striker.

Depends how much.... Though we don't need anymore strikers at the moment.

I would sign him on a 1 year without a shadow of a doubt. Absolute quality at Valencia but didn't work at Spurs for some reason.

He'd fit very well with Hughes' system but we don't need another striker as of yet and Spurs would want a good 15+ mil for him. Doubt he would come on loan.

Couldn't afford him, we don't need a striker, if we could and did then yeh, I'd have happily seen us sign him.

Heard rumours that he might be going to Atletico Madrid to replace Mandzukic who has just gone to Juventus.

Don't really understand what happened to him, he went from superstar at Valencia to a virtual nonentity at Spuds. The money grabber at Spurs (Levy) would no doubt be demanding top dollar anyway, coupled with big pay packets says it is a non starter and we don't need another striker(hopefully) at this time. So it's a no from me.

He's rubbish as a tottenham player so why would he be good as a Stoke player? Soldado isn't good enough for spurs, not by a long shot, who are around 5th and 6th so he isn't gonna push us forward into top 6 that some partially deluded fans are aiming for... He's scored 7 in 51 for spurs and looks dreadful every time he plays against us...

Great finisher in the right team, a class above what we have, if we could afford him yes, but we can't.

He hasn't worked out at Spurs but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be a hit at Stoke (not saying he'd definitely be great either, mind). We need to take risks to move to the next level since we're not going to attract top players directly and IMO these are the type of risks we'd need to take (it's not a realistic risk, but if it was). I'm happy with Diouf and Crouch, though, and we obviously have Joselu now too which renders the past couple of minutes of me writing this post a complete waste of my time. I'd delete all of the text up to now and simply replace it with "no, we've got adequate strikers" but the damage has already been done and I'd hate to know that my efforts of the, now, four minutes have gone to an absolute waste so the only shred of hope I have left is at least one of you has reached this point of the post and, in turn, I have also wasted some of your time, too.

He had a one-in-two record for five years in Spain, including for the country's third-biggest club. He strikes me very much as a player who needs a) confidence and b) a system focused around him. I don't think its a signing we'd be remotely interested in, but if we were it's not quite as simple as "he was shit for Tottenham".

Officially the most expensive player per-goals ratio in the Prem iirc? So it's a no from me, considering what he'd cost and the potential return

He's not cut out for the premiership, maybe he'd have been a success here 8-10 years ago when teams played a few up top but in the modern game of 1 striker you really need a big unit up front who has pace and can hold the ball up (and these types of player are hard to come by). You need to be more than just a poacher to make it in the Premier League nowadays.

He's not a good goal poacher. A good goal poacher can go for 60 minutes without a chance and then bury the one that he has. Soldado has never been clinical. I'm sure he had a great chance against us in one fixture and he put it over. He would have to be next to nothing for me to even consider him.

View AttachmentAguero is an amazing player, he's far more than a poacher though and he usually plays alongside another striker.
