I think I'd rather keep hold of him for the season and let him go for nowt next summer. You mean keep him till January, where he signs a pre contract with a foreign club and spends the 2nd half of the season trying to avoid injury? Either sign him up on a new deal or sell for what we can get IMO.

One good season does not a legend make. He was always going to go as soon as he could, him and his old man are a pair of stroppy french twats. Next please....... One good season. Short, short memories. I agree. If memory serves me correctly, he had 2 1/2 very mediocre seasons and was slagged off royally for his poor attitude, being lazy and only capable of making sideways or backwards passes. He only showed his true potential in the second half of last season. I was in two minds as to whether we should make him play out his contract or get what we can for him now. On balance, if he only has an incentive to play well till January to attract a "bigger", I say we let him go and get what we can for him.

Hes been anonymous until this season and only then as this seasons gone on. In my opinion of course, oh and Terry Conroy, oh and Jimmy greenhoff, and whoever else on here.

In a world where an unproven, uncapped (even at U21 level), full back moves for 8 million - N'Zonzi is worth two or three times the fees being mentioned for him.

The agreement between Seville-N'Zonzi is total. The agreement Seville-Stoke resists. The English club is excessively hard. The player has one year left

Where do Seville get the idea that the buying club dictates the price?

Never heard of the guy making the statement, so how the hell would he know. Calling it all bullshit till a truly reliable source shows up.

On a completely separate note, does anybody know the Spanish for 'Eat shit Monchi. I hope you fall down a manhole'?

Just presuming that they've effectively tapped him up and gone at him through a back-door route. Sadly it's probably the type of thing that goes on in most transfers. And it means sod all until they start offering us some proper money. And who knows if this guy really knows anything - but he does seem to be one of the main journos at the local Seville sports paper, and they have been pretty much writing every day that N'Zonzi wants to go there

Can see this turning quite ugly.

Stoke won't sell for the £3mill they have offered and want at least £7mill for him. Seville think they can pressurise us into selling at a low amount but stoke would rather he leave for nothing next year than sell for £3mill.

Can see this turning quite ugly. Yeah. Quite easily! Suppose we've got to trust Hughes to judge to what extent his head's gone and how he's going to shape up if he stays. Can't see how we can, as a point of principle, let him go for something ridiculous like £4m though. But as has been said, we do run the risk of him signing a pre-contract with them in 4 months - and then he could go into strop overdrive with his future sorted. But if Seville spend what they've budgeted for him on their back-up midfielder, would they still want him for next year? It's pretty tricky all 'round.

The guy that told about the "supposedly done" agreement between Sevilla and NZonzi has great credibility. One of the journalists here in Seville you can trust.
Some others with less of it say the same, NZonzi wants to play here but Stoke is being really tough (I understand why).

Yeah - I can definitely believe that and we kind of knew that was the case for a few weeks. Without knowing what's going on between our coach and N'Zonzi, it's difficult to know whether Monchi's game will work. If we did reluctantly sell, I still think you would have to get up to €8m (and even then Stoke would feel they had been robbed with a gun to the head) Any idea what Sevilla are currently offering?

I can't imagine Scholes and the Coates' being too willing to deal with this lot with the way they've acted.

Not exactly, but I think 8M€ is the top Sevilla can offer, because the way Sevilla buys players is not as it is in England. We buy players giving them great salaries, but we have to negotiate with the club so that we don't have to buy him for a lot of money. I think the deal might be around 7M€+objectives (don't know how you call that in English), not much more. In the end, if Sevilla buys NZonzi, don't expect a quantity near 12-13M€. Completely unreal.

I just say English market is overpriced, that's it. I'll concede that for English players it is overpriced, however your clubs valuation of Steven falls far, far short of his real value. He does very well in a competitive premier league, so would ruin most of the clubs in your league on his own. In short, Sevilla must our valuation or move on to some other target.

I just say English market is overpriced, that's it. Well I say tough shit. You have to pay closer to what he's worth rather than try and take the piss. He plays in the premier league, not in Spain, therefore you will have to pay more than you would like. I would rather force feed him pies for the next few months and turn him into a fat twat than sell him to Sevilla for a pittance. Come back with a better offer or you won't get him, nor would you deserve to.

If he's forced to stay because we won't accept Sevilla's derisory offer I think we will see full sulk mode from Nzonzi for the entire season and we won't get anywhere near the best out of him.
I feel that he (and the "advice" from his bloody father) will ensure that we regret not selling him. Far from this being a season to look forward to and with the distinct possibility of it being our best ever Prem season yet again, I am becoming concerned that the disruption and upheaval caused by Nzonzi (and Bego to a much lesser extent) could have a major detrimental effect on our performances.
We shouldn't accept Sevilla's current offer, but I feel it is in the club's best interests to cash in on him in this window and then bring in the required players ASAP.
This will then give the team/squad as much pre-season together as possible.
