It won't be villa they're in the middle of a takeover And they're in the middle of being overtaken by everyone.

He's going Chelsea and we're trying to salvage a deal with Moses out of it.

We might as well say ,-12 points with bego going. A brilliant start to the season. How many games has he saved us points.? Top 12.I reckon.

You expect Bego to be number 1 at Chelsea? when Cech couldn't be?.. obvs. Bego is better than Cech. He will give Courtois a run for his money if given the opportunity.

Sentinel says Villa are front runners for Bego...would be a more than bizarre move.

Last season he was very in different. He's been a fantastic signing for us but we e got a very good replacement waiting. I just hope he doesn't rot on Chelsea's bench as he isn't as good as courtois

The Sentinel are worse than the Nationals with the drivel they publish sometimes.

If he even considered going there he's an absolute bulb and purely motivated by a bigger new contract.

If Villa really are serious players in this, we must have reached the stage where we are now actively looking to move him on and have decided this is handover time to Butland, surely?
Can't get my head around this at all

If we let him walk away there, surely we have decided this summer is handover time and we need to cash in. Which I'm not sure is the right call because Bego is a far superior keeper at this stage - but suppose the thinking is we cannot legitimately keep Butland hanging on any longer and still expect him to hang around

The way Spinks worded his tweet last night, I was expecting us to have accepted a bid for him.
Anyway, if he goes Villa, that truly is shocking!

As far as I am aware bego has confirmed he's in talks with villa. He doesn't want to up root his family so I guess once butland signed he was told he'd be no.1. Stoke wouldn't want to lose bego but i suppose he's told them if he's not no.1 then he's off

Can't get my head around this at all I think Villa would come into play from Asmir and Stoke's point of view because the interest in him has been far less than the player was expecting. People aren't stupid, they will know he's had a shaky season and a really big club are unlikely to make a player whose had a poor season their new number one. Asmir's actions have backed himself into a corner with his veiled rhetoric about not knowing what the future holds and all that jazz, so signing a new deal here would be hard for him to swallow. If only you'd kept your eye on the ball during the past season, you had the world at your feet. Instead (and not for the first time) he let speculation affect his game.

Bego has always been unhappy with no Cup matches. Realistically his only chance of silverware here. Not sure he played in the Europa? Understandably, he wants Cup football and it doesn't look like this will happen here.

He'd certainly be No. 1 and see A LOT of action in another relegation threatened season if he went to Villa.
If we end up actually signing players like Shaq and Kono, surely we're a much better proposition?
Maybe we just can't guarantee him No 1 spot now and he's willing to move anywhere.

Come on guys. Read between the lines. The stoke 'mouthpiece' the sentinel, are obviously trying to flush someone out here. The same with saying nzonzi to Leicester.
Two players that have been banging on about champions league are supposedly going to sign for two clubs that battle relegation.
In other words, we want it resolved, come on Chelsea let's get the deal done or else we might sell him to villa.

They are a bigger club than us (Villa) and if Sherwood gets them going they have the potential to make the Europa League consistently in the future. That said, we are closer to it than them at the moment and with more strengthening possible we look favourites to "stay ahead of the game" for the forseeable future.
However, take all that away and strip it back to the bare components then you have to laugh at the lad in all honesty. He's kind of shot for the stars and fell face first into the patio.

And he's only got himself to blame really. Instead of talking about his ambitions last year he should have focussed on his game and prove to everyone that he's worth a big move. Too many doubts hang over him after the last campaign for a really big club to make him their number 1.

club not impressed when he refused to sit on bench. He was told to find another club if he was not going to extend as we were not prepared to let him run his contract out and he leave for free. Looks like his options were not as good as he hoped

As much as it won't happen, I would pay money to force bego and nzonzi out to villa and Leicester. That would beat anything on comedy gold.

Looks like his options were not as good as he hoped I know it didn't impress anyone despite the spin and Radio Stoke falling for it as Matty Ethers let it slip that Asmir had been made to train with the kids after the Swansea game. Hardly the club being "fine" with his head not being "right" as reported.

Hardly the club being "fine" with his head not being "right" as reported. Real shame for everyone, but if things have got nasty, maybe there's not much room for maneuver. He's still fundamentally a superb keeper and the thought of him going to Villa this time last year would have been ten times as fanciful and bizarre as Bolasie to Stoke or N'Zonzi to Leicester. In pure goalkeeping terms, I'd still have him clearly ahead of Butland - but looks like other things are at play.

If he's going, from our perspective, it's all about the fee, I don't really care where he goes.
From his perspective, it started out being about CL football, but which CL team is lining him up as their No 1?
So that leaves him back at Stoke. But I'm guessing we won't guarantee him the no 1 spot and he won't sign a new deal; sounds a bit messy for everyone.
So he's not going to hang around here and the best off is his only option. It could be that he's been persuaded by Sherwood that Villla are on the verge of great things. I don't know who else Villa have bought, but they are going to need about half a new team if they are going to reverse years of under investment and bad buying decisions.
