Tin hat on...
I wish shawcross had said yes when asked to play for wales. I've got loads of welsh in my family and I'm loving the run they're on at the moment - it would have been brilliant to see Ryan be a part of it, especially as it looks like he just won't be allowed into the England set up

I wish he played for England Yes but if he did play for England everyone would see how good he is and he'd be off to a champions league club within 6 months...

Excuse my French but I think that the "Ryan would be off" argument is a load of poppycock.
This is our 8th season up now, we've played all the bigger clubs at least 14 times each. There are such things as scouts, and all clubs go and watch other clubs all the time. They're not stupid, and I severely doubt that a manager of a top club is going to look at Twatty Duffer Hodgson's selection and base a transfer according to his bumbling opinion.

I think he should fuck off to the sheep shaggers, would serve England and Woy right when he established himself as the world class CB he most obviously is. And with a place in the finals looking likely, he should do it now

Ryan had chances to move to Liverpool and Man City. It seems like Ferguson also thought about bringing him back to ManU at one point as well, looking at Smalling and Jones, you can see why. I have read stuff in the press linking him to Everton, Spurs and Juventus as well and there was even some press speculation about Arsenal at one time.
He is better than a twenty minute run out in a friendly. But that's they way it has worked out. Hodgson will be gone one day and Ryan may have timed out and lost his chance, but it does not diminish how good a player he is nor how many admirers amongst better managers than Hodgson.
What I will say is that he is in the right place. This is a club that is going places. He is the captain of the club and it's driving force. He is also backed by tens of thousands of us who have taken the view that if you pick on one of us, you pick on all of us. If he gets his chance we know what he can do and frankly, I don't care if it's for England or Wales, but I'd prefer it if he just played for Stoke.

I wish Ryan played for England, him and Cahill, would be a very good partnership. However he isn't, and we have to get on with it just like he does.
