Do you support all the English teams in Europe when they're playing in the Europa / Champions League? I take very little interest in international football in general, not just England. These friendlies might as well be the lawn bowls championships for the amount of entertainment that's on show. I've tried to care about England, I really have. I'm not arsed if the team is full of arseholes (there's one or two in the Stoke side if we're honest.) They just don't ignite a fire in me like Stoke can, I'm completely ambivalent towards them. That first question is utterly ridiculous and has nothing to do with what we're discussing whatsoever. And the answer is obviously no because they aren't my team. I'm English so by default my national team is England,so as a fan of football, everytime England play I want them to win. To be honest I was originally digging out the people who were shouting come on Ireland, which is a bit different and much more treacherous than you just not being arsed Haha, fair enough. I do care that I don't care, if that makes any sense at all. I should support England and I'd like to think I'm patriotic, but there's absolutely nothing about them that stirs any sort of excitement in me. The completely bollocks selection policy of the last decade either (and I'm not on about Shawcross). I guess I'm not the only one either.

Jordan Henderson-what purpose does this useless bellend serve on a football field? Those cheap aftershaved portly journo's who gather around a croissant on a Sunday morning on Sky will tell you that he's the best young English mifielder around. Except for the four days a season Jack Wilshere isn't injured then they'll tell you he's the best young English mifielder around. I can see Wilshere is a talented lad but Henderson? Not at all, there's just nothing, no feature about his game strikes me as being good enough. The standard Wilson error there.

It's not my fault he makes a massive error every game is it?

The biggest problem with the England team for me is there isnt anyone you could rally round or get a team fired up for a match.
There doesnt seem to be any passion in what should be a great thing to do. Pull on an England top and play for your country.
I must be getting old but im sure it used to mean something and you could see that in players faces and there performances, even if the team was shit.
Doesnt mean i am not going to care but if the players and manager are truly uninspiring how are fans supposed too ?

The biggest question I have at the moment is...
Just why the hell have the Irish put the advertisements that are on the pitch - angled the wrong way? You just can't make out what they're advertising!

It does make sense,I think You're not the only one who's passion for England has waned,I know loads of people who say exactly what you're saying. If I'm honest I don't get anywhere as excited as I used to get watching England but I will always watch us when we're playing and will always want us to batter whoever we are up against. Years of dissapointment have taken their toll but I will never understand English football fans wanting England to lose a game of football,it's wrong on so many levels.

Maybe the Irish TV cameras are on the other side of the pitch? The ITV cameras are pointing at an angle into the sun, which suggests that they are on the "wrong" side.

Townsend "to be fair, he thought that there might be an outstretched leg and got in the mode that he was going to go down"
What a cunt!

The reason is hard to be bothered about England is that the team is utter rubbish at this level.
We never came close to winning anything when we had Owen, Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes, Neville, Campbell (arsehole but good), Ferdinand, Cashley Cole etc etc all in their prime with a young Rooney and an old David James. It'd take a miracle for this lot to do better than they did.
Would any of this lot have got into Sven's teams? Maybe Hart? Maybe Sterling instead of Joe Cole? I think the last world cup is an unfortunate sign of things to come. There's only Oxlade Chamberlain who I see any potential in, the rest are either a bit crap, think they're better than they are or injury prone (or all 3 in some cases).

Sterling takes a blatant dive and Townsend says:
"...in all fairness he probably feels that outstretched leg...and yet get into that mode where you're going to hit the floor....he didn't go mad"
Disgusting. It was a dive and the only reason he didn't "go mad" was he knew it was so bad.

Maybe the Irish TV cameras are on the other side of the pitch? The ITV cameras are pointing at an angle into the sun, which suggests that they are on the "wrong" side. Surely they would have only one set of cameras there - and ITV would take their feed off the host provider (with a few additional cameras maybe)? I don't think I've ever seen two different companies cover the same game. Even if there are two - you'd think that is much more beneficial selling to the big English market than the small Irish market?
